Job Description

Spend Management Director represents Procurement in the Business or Market, has in-depth understanding of the strategy, product portfolio, and is responsible for driving the buy-in, approval, and funding of projects to improve productivity, quality, service level or operational elements.

In this role, you are responsible for:

- Establishing a collaborative culture related to Procurement (all 3rd party indirect spend) exemplified by openness, trust, shared action, and an emphasis on mutual long-term benefits to become an Influential and valued Business Partner

- Being the single point of contact for assigned businesses & markets on all Procurement related topics & (cost) category strategies

- Gaining stakeholder insights about Business/Market objectives, strategies, requirements, and priorities by deep listening and understanding

- Building deep B/M insights and collaborates with the Business Leader and Heads of Finance to identify enterprise-wide opportunities to drive revenue/value generation and operating cost optimization

- Bringing business insights as input to Global Cost Category Strategies

- Leveraging and interlinking best practices, (cost) category and B/M/F insights with the situational dossier to constantly challenge status quo and bring compelling solutions to the table which matter to stakeholder priorities

- Ensuring that B/M/F objectives and requirements are well understood by all relevant Procurement functions to co-create and improve the (cost) category strategies and programs

- Orchestrating and driving stakeholder related performance cycle incl. escalations across all Procurement activities to meet stakeholder objectives and deliver on agreed plans

- Managing the execution of stakeholder related Funnel measures (QxP) and co-creating a future funnel of opportunities

- Crisis management in case of business critical Supply Base/Supplier/Governance related issues

- Driving DfX in own scope

You're the right fit if you have a customer-first attitude and the following:

- Master's Degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent; MBA is a plus

- 10 + years of related experience in Indirect Procurement, Supply Chain, or in related Stakeholder function

- 5 + years of BOM (bill of materials) experience

- Deep understanding of FDA regulated industry insights

- Cultural sensitiveness, ability to do global business across Europe, the Americas and Asia

- Maturity + assertiveness to challenge and support cross functional teams

- Commercial awareness / business acumen

- Advanced Problem Solving Skills
