We are seeking a skilled and experienced SQL Database Administrator to join the Atwell Technology Services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of SQL databases across our organization. This also includes support and timely management of our ERP system, Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint, PowerBI and our internally developed tools that help support our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances across development, testing, and production environments.
- Ensure database performance optimization through monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning for efficiency.
- Implement and oversee database security measures to protect sensitive data and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular database backups and disaster recovery operations to ensure data availability and integrity.
- Collaborate with software developers and other IT professionals to integrate databases with applications and resolve any related issues.
- Manage database access permissions and privileges for users.
- Monitor database system health and performance, identifying and resolving any issues that arise.
- Stay current with the latest database technologies and best practices, recommending and implementing improvements to existing systems.
- Serve as technical system administrator for Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint ERP. Including creating workflows, stored procedures, configuring web services, evaluating and developing application integrations with other enterprise software, and custom report development.
- Support ETL process for various enterprise data sources (i.e. Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint, ADP etc.) and create new datasets to support business requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator or similar role.
- Strong understanding of SQL database management systems, preferably with certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Database Administrator).
- Knowledge of database backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL.
- Experience with database design, documentation, and coding.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
