Location:  The position is located in Denver, CO. Employees are expected to work in the office at least two days/week and may work remotely or in the office the other days of the week. This position is not expected to travel on a regular basis but may be asked if the occasion warrants.

The team: EnergyCAP’s Product Engineering Team develops browser-based, enterprise applications for its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) clients. Front-end technologies include JavaScript, Angular, and TypeScript. Back-end technologies include C#/ASP.NET, RESTful APIs (developer.energycap.com), and Microsoft SQL Server. Developers create automated tests to support all developed code. Products/solutions are hosted using a mix of on-premises and cloud services and solutions. This position reports to the Manager, Product Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and create new SSRS reports for SaaS platform across hundreds of databases
  • Develop, maintain, and extend cloud-based SSAS environment for client-driven analytics
  • Create and optimize SQL/MDX/DAX queries and stored procedures in support of SSRS reports and SSAS analytics
  • Maintain existing Crystal Reports
  • Deliver performant, quality SSRS reports
  • Support and extend existing data warehouse and OLAP models
  • Work collaboratively with software engineers, product managers and clients to appropriately document deliverables
  • Meet critical deadlines while not sacrificing the quality of the work
  • Continue personal development through provided training opportunities and self-directed activities
  • Be an active member of an Agile-based team environment

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in production-level, SQL and report development
  • Knowledgeable of Agile development practices and software development life cycle
  • Knowledgeable in version control tools (preferably Git)
  • Experienced in developing, understanding, and optimizing Structured Query Language (SQL) queries and stored procedures
  • Experienced in developing, maintaining, and optimizing reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Experienced in developing, maintaining, and optimizing OLAP analytical models in Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
  • Foundational knowledge of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) and Multidimensional Expressions (MDX)
  • Ability to design and implement analytical, business intelligence data warehouse platform
  • Comfortable in translating customer and project management requirements
  • Ability to present and explain complex technical topics, problems, alternative solutions to business units
  • Participate in code reviews and positively provide and receive feedback
  • Collaborative across software engineering, business, and clients
  • Secure in a fast-paced environment with high-quality requirements and deadlines
  • Innovative in bringing new ideas to increase overall product quality, development process and software maintenance

Pay range: $80,000 to $90,000, plus bonus. Pay is commensurate on a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
