SQL Developer - Treasury Data Solutions team (Hybrid or Remote)

Overview:

Provides technological and data support, including software support, report development, ETL (extract, transform, load) program design and in-depth data analysis for the Treasury division.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Write SQL queries to store, sort, and retrieve data.
• Creating views, functions and stored procedures
• Designing database tables and structures
• Plan, create and execute test cases to ensure process and data accuracy
• Support design and implementation of routine and non-routine processes to extract, transform and load processes established to aggregate various data sources across the Bank
• Support design and implementation of data structures through proper change management
• Participate in peer reviews of code to ensure adherence to development standards
• Interact with project managers, businesses owners, analyst teams and clients, building database Document code, provide progress reports, and perform code review and peer feedback.
• Troubleshoot failed processes
• Maintaining data quality
• Complete other related duties as assigned.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
• Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree and minimum of 1 years' relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree a combined minimum of 5 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 1 years' relevant work experience
• Database development with knowledge of database concepts, stored procedures, performance tuning
• Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL or equivalent
• Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of pertinent word processing, spreadsheet and database software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education and Experience Preferred:

• Minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience
• Microsoft SQL development experience including tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, linked servers, performance tuning
• Experience in writing and debugging complex SQL Stored Procedures, functions, views
• Experience in ETL tools (SSIS) and database integration with SQL Server, Oracle, and other databases.
• Experience dealing with large data sets
• Willingness to learn new skills and to contribute to a team knowledge

Location:

This position can be performed on site at M&T Plaza in Buffalo, NY, in a hybrid capacity, or fully remote from anywhere in the US.
