Job Description

Geode is seeking a Squad Lead within the investment operations group to direct a team of engineers, business analysts and quality assurance members to expand and improve business capabilities. Your unique blend of product management and investment management expertise, coupled with a genuine passion for delivering results, makes you the ideal fit. As the product owner, you serve as the guardian of the squad's mission, strategy, and tactical execution for delivering strategic priorities.

 

In the collaborative setting of an agile structure, you'll partner closely with other squad and chapter leaders, playing a crucial role in influencing broader strategic decisions, fostering consensus on priorities, and addressing the squad’s roadmap and resource needs and bring together a team of chapter members to execute on product features. Your responsibilities will involve ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog to ensure everyone is aligned on "what" needs to be done and "when."

 

This is a hybrid work environment opportunity with a weekly in-office schedule of Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with remote work availability on Mondays and Fridays.

 

The Expertise and Skills You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree (or above) preferably in Finance or Information Technology
  • Over 6 years of hands-on experience in investment operations, business/system analysis, and product management
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of investment operations functions such as holdings and cash reconciliations, trades processing, ETF processing, corporate actions workflow and cash flow management.
  • Experience working on project and resource planning and planning and tracking tools such as JIRA.
  • Investment management or other financial services experience preferred.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders and ability to translate their needs to technical requirements, breaking larger strategic objectives to smaller actionable tasks.
  • Grasp product features and break them into clear and concise stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria.
  • Establish and clearly communicate squad goals and priorities, both short term and long term, to stakeholders, other leaders, and squad members
  • Dedication to execution with a keen eye for identifying and addressing impediments.
  • Capable of leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues without formal authority, and have a track record of building hard-working teams.
  • Continuously improve and encourage an agile way of working.
  • Intellectually curious and model a culture of continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Assist in the development of a Product Area level product strategy, roadmap and plans for development, delivery, and support.
  • Active involvement in shaping the Product Area-level product strategy, roadmap, and development plans.
  • Effective management of day-to-day relationships, ensuring ongoing service excellence for business partners and vendors including, but not limited to, Fidelity Fund Investment Operations (FFIO) team, Fidelity International operations (FIL), custodians and data providers.
