POSITION DETAILS
Position Activities
- The SR Defense Account Manager develops and manages sales activities with prospective and existing direct customer accounts within the naval defense market. Develops long-term relationships with key customer accounts and acts as "voice of the customer" to the organization. Handles large major accounts whose requirements may be complex, technical, demanding and have long-term completion schedules. Primary Point of Contact for customer representatives such as buyers, engineers, and other professional and technical personnel at shipyards, OEM's, and other businesses.
Principal Activities
- Reviews RFQ's, specifications, drawings, plans, and other customer documents to develop and prepare proposals and quotations.
- Monitor profitability and adjust pricing as necessary to meet company objectives.
- Coordinates project management functions for major contracts including contract review, order entry, dissemination of flow down requirements, tracking of progress and document submittals.
- Review and process contract supplements and communicate any changes in a timely & effective manner.
- Investigates and resolves customer issues or complaints.
- Provide regular customer reporting as needed in a timely and organized manner.
- Work closely with other departments including operations, quality, supply chain, finance, and engineering to assist in resolving issues affecting customers.
- Coordinate and process milestone payments in a timely manner.
- Organize and lead customer program reviews.
- Represent company at industry meetings and trade shows.
- Assist finance with rates, compliance and in resolving collection issues.
- Perform your activities with minimal support resources.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to work in a cross functional team environment to support customer needs.
- Must be agile, very organized and able to work under occasional pressure situations to address the critical needs of a demanding customer base.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and MS Project applications
- Familiarity with ERP system and order processing of engineered products.
- Due to the nature of our defense products, must be a US Citizen and be capable of obtaining a government security clearance.
- This position is based in Warren, MA
Education & Experience
- Typically requires a minimum level of knowledge that is acquired through a four-year college degree in Engineering or Business and Five years related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Government contracts experience including knowledge of the FAR, DFARS is highly desired.
- Naval defense or maritime industry experience with Knowledge of shipboard fluid systems, pumps and valves preferred.
