Position Description

As a Sr Accountant, you will be responsible for examining financial statements and ensure that they comply with US GAAP. You'll get to maintain revenue schedules; manage reconciliation of balance sheet accounts including deferred and straight line revenue; prepare support for financial audits; manage Month End close – Heavy GL, Journal Entry preparation and revenue analysis.

You will be responsible for reporting monthly results to management and working with AR function to ensure accuracy; assess financial operations; make best-practices recommendations to management; and suggest ways to increase revenue and maximize profits. This role reports to the Accounting Manager, Revenue and has high visibility with Zayo’s CAO and Sr. Director of Accounting.

We're open to this position working in a hybrid capacity out of our Denver or Boulder, CO offices.

Responsibilities

• Manage Month End close – Heavy GL, Journal Entry Preparation and Entry, including necessary accruals.

• Balance sheet reconciliations and analytics.

• Variance analysis, reporting monthly results to management and working with AP/AR function to ensure accuracy.

• Partner with FP&A to assess financial operations and make best-practices recommendations to management.

• Partner with FP&A for both internal and external reporting.

• Support Accounting Managers and Director of Accounting on projects, process improvements and workflow documentations.

• Other ad hoc projects as necessary.

Qualifications

• BS in Accounting or Business Administration

• 3+ years' post-degree progressive experience

• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Experience working with Microsoft Excel is a MUST

• Experience working with Oracle and Salesforce, a plus

• Experience in the telecommunications industry, a plus

• Excellent analytical and communication skills

• A self-motivator taking the initiative to look into details and propose efficient ways to improve the financials

• A team-player with a positive attitude and ability to work with tight deadlines

• A self-motivator with a focus on continuous process improvement and developing efficient ways to support the business

• Ability to work evenings and weekends, if necessary

Base pay range: $80,000 - $95,000, commensurate with experience.
