This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr Accountant in India.

This role is a key finance position responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounting operations within a structured month-end close environment. You will play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity across general ledger activities, reconciliations, accruals, and asset accounting processes. The position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple accounting cycles while ensuring compliance with internal controls and reporting standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and support both internal and statutory audits. Accountabilities:

  • Perform monthly accounting activities in line with the defined close calendar and reporting deadlines
  • Prepare and post accurate accrual entries, ensuring completeness and compliance with accounting standards
  • Manage intangible asset accounting including capitalization, amortization, and maintenance of supporting schedules
  • Handle lease accounting activities including recognition, measurement, and financial reporting requirements
  • Prepare and maintain bank reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies
  • Manage intercompany transactions and foreign expense calculations with accuracy and consistency
  • Prepare account reconciliations and ensure timely submission within system-defined deadlines
  • Support accounting of other liabilities and transaction service agreement activities
  • Assist in internal and statutory audits by preparing required documentation, reports, and reconciliations
  • Support direct taxation-related accounting activities and reporting requirements
  • Apply analytical skills to ensure accuracy, consistency, and insight into financial data
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, CA Inter, or CMA Inter qualification
    • 5–7 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably with strong exposure to General Ledger functions
    • Experience working in an MNC environment with internal controls frameworks
    • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Oracle R12; Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus
    • Strong knowledge of MS Office tools, especially Excel
    • Good understanding of IFRS and Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) preferred
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
