People Insights is a Center of Excellence (CoE) that enables TWDC Human Resource leadership to attract, engage, and retain talent through compelling and actionable People Analytics. We transform organizational, HR, and Talent Acquisition data into a unified BI portfolio that empowers clients to create compelling stories about our most valuable resource: people. In this role, you will have the chance to improve your expertise and knowledge to assist in management, governance and integration of workforce data into a Snowflake database and will collaborate with various collaborators to ensure seamless data integration and accessibility for reporting and analytics purposes across multiple tools including Tableau, Cognos, and others.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities:
- Data Integration and Modeling
- Design and architect robust data integration pipelines for employee lifecycle data, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance in a Snowflake environment.
- Develop and implement efficient data models to support reporting and analytics needs, adhering to best practices and optimizing for query performance.
- ETL Development, Monitoring and Optimization
- Build, test, and maintain Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) or ELT processes to ingest data from diverse sources into Snowflake, ensuring data quality, integrity, and consistency.
- Build audits for data quality validations and user acceptance testing requirements
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize data pipelines for improved efficiency and reliability.
- Automation:
- Implement automation solutions to streamline data integration processes, minimize manual intervention, and improve efficiency.
- Consult with cross-functional teams, including report engineers, to deliver data pipelines that efficiently display data for business use.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Analysts, Business Intelligence Developers, and Data Scientists to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Partner with IT developers to implement and test data infrastructure enhancements
- Research ad-hoc data questions and optimize SQL queries and Scripts to support partners as required
- Communicate data updates to technical and non-technical partners
- Documentation
- Build both technical and business documentation of data improvements
- Document data integration processes, data flows, and system configurations to ensure knowledge transfer and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Security and Compliance:
- Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements by implementing appropriate access controls, encryption, and data governance practices.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 2+ of proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with a focus on data integration, data modeling and ETL development.
- Expertise in SQL and Python or other scripting languages and experience working with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse platforms.
- Ability to translate business issues and requirements into actionable plans
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Hands-on experience with ELT/ETL and versioning tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI or machine learning concepts
- Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI or Cognos
- HR and/or Talent Acquisition data experience
The hiring range for this position in Burbank is $111,900 -$136,700 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
