About the Role
In this role, you will support the overall Landlord Account Reconciliation function for a large, multi-brand retailer in a fast-paced, complex environment with a leased population of 3,000+ locations by reviewing the financial input of lease terms into the Lease Management System. You will develop relationships and collaborate with the various cross functional real estate business teams to ensure timely payment, compliance, accounting and forecasting of lease obligations.

About the Role
In this role, you will support the overall Landlord Account Reconciliation function for a large, multi-brand retailer in a fast-paced, complex environment with a leased population of 3,000+ locations by reviewing the financial input of lease terms into the Lease Management System. You will develop relationships and collaborate with the various cross functional real estate business teams to ensure timely payment, compliance, accounting and forecasting of lease obligations.
What You'll Do
- Possess robust legal term and contract discernment skills and comprehension of the impact to financial accounting results.
- Extraction of financial terms referring to all rental obligations for input into the Lease Management System (TELMS), including rent, occupancy costs, rent concessions, terms, and impact to payment processes
- Responsible for reviewing the financial input of all lease actions into TELMS
- Responsible for maintaining records for all lease actions that come from Real Estate Law and other departments in Real Estate Accounting, as well as the international regions
- Supports Real Estate Landlord Account Reconciliation and the Lease Accounting groups on set up of occupancy categories
- Provide guidance and interpretation of lease language
- Works closely with Real Estate Law on profile discrepancies to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Manage and prioritize workload to ensure compliance with SOX controls around lease extraction and entry into the system, as well as those controls outlined for the department and company
- Comply with company time-lines for period end close
- Provide financial support and analysis to key internal groups such as Corporate Real Estate, Store Development, Real Estate Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Internal Audit
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners and cross functional teams at all levels of the organization
