Sr Analyst - Performance Engineering Developer

We are looking for inspired developers to join our small, brand new Performance Tooling Team. This role would help develop our existing tool 'Mule' as well as define and expand our tool offerings into performance diagnostics, problem identification, optimization, etc. We're looking for an individual who has software development experience and won't shy away from learning new things.
The following skills/technologies are 'nice-to-haves' and would require you to learn to some extent in this role; Docker/Containerization, Kubernetes, CI/CD Pipelines, Web App Development, Scripting Development, GOlang, and whatever you bring to the table!
This role can be worked remotely but must be commutable to the Columbus office for meetings and events.

As a Technology Engineer, you deliver standard and custom supportable technology products. The solutions you build are based on Nationwide's architectural standards, technology roadmaps, industry trends and business requirements. The expertise you provide will focus on collaboration, data, systems, storage, middleware, network, security and contact center technology products. You're also accountable for the operational aspects and management for the above products in accordance with the business requirements and defined service level agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities:
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager: Technology Engineering Manager/Technology Product Manager.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems or a related field is preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Technology certifications or designation are not required, but encouraged (i.e.: AWS, Azure, scripting and development languages, delivery methods, security.
Experience: One or more years of experience developing and implementing integrated solutions. Experience in testing and debugging integrated solutions. Understanding of system management processes and tools. Understanding of concepts: IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and package solutions.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Strong communication skills, knowledge of planning, management and execution of Accelerated Solutions Deliver framework, Information Security acumen. Influencing, negotiating and priority setting is needed. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the Vice President and HR Business Partner.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Executes all aspects of capacity: drives requirements to meet current and future needs, tracks and reports capacity postures.
- Analyzes reports and delivery recommendations to remediate capacity issues.
- Implements capacity enhancements.
- Participates in technology/product optimization, migrations and management, including technology/product design, planning, power and environmental management.
- Continuously improves and enhances existing environments.
- Maintains proper hardware and software currency levels by working on recommended upgrades.
- Conducts proactive system maintenance, disaster recovery planning, data backup and recovery as well as inventory, configuration and utility product management.
- Executes on production engineering processes, incident management, root cause analysis, problem management, change management, release management and knowledge management.
- Supports operational efforts to maintain environments.
- Provides production support for all technology platforms.
- Assists with disaster and business recovery planning and testing.
- Provides oversight for technical labs and development environments.
