Sr App Quality Engineer - Yahoo Finance

A Little About Us:
Yahoo Finance connects users with tools and information to expand and grow their personal wealth. We are looking for a talented candidate with a solid software quality assurance background to join the Yahoo Finance Native Apps (Android and iOS) team. The candidate should thoroughly understand QA testing environments and software development life cycles, work in an agile environment and develop standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness. In addition, the candidate will perform manual testing, coordinate with remote QA contractors, research and analyze product features being tested, review user interfaces for consistency and functionality and have an opportunity to champion our transition to greater automated test coverage.
Responsibilities:

• Design test plans, write test cases, review functional requirements documentation, and present test strategies for team review
• Submit and verify defects and regressions
• Perform and document risk analysis
• Develop standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness
• Be part of the Agile Team - participate in the development of project timelines, attend scrums, sprint planning/backlog reviews - communicate project/testing status to internal and external teams in a timely fashion
• Design and Develop test automation frameworks & test tools for our apps
• Produce quality code/automated test cases to ensure adequate coverage for fixes and regression-free deliverables
• Identify, adapt and promote new testing methodologies, architecture, implementation, best practices, and tools from appropriate sources (open-source, to improve test coverage
• Be proactive and exercise flexibility and multi-tasking ability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

A Lot About You:

• B.S. or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field or demonstrate equivalent in practical experience
• 5+ years of experience related to software development with a focus on the testing native mobile applications (Android and iOS)

• Comprehensive knowledge of software engineering processes
• Hands-on knowledge in writing Functional/ Component/ Integration Tests and understanding of different testing theories, methodologies, analyses, and tools
• Strong problem-solving ability with a passion for debugging complex issues
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A passion for the world of personal finance, equities and cryptocurrency is a plus!
