Your Role
Aptiv's NA CS team seeks a motivated Application Engineer in Troy, MI to support customer relations, drive new business opportunities, and provide internal engineering feedback for improved customer satisfaction.
- Maintain and enhance customer relationships with multiple engineering teams.
- Identify and assess new business opportunities through customer interactions.
- Understand and communicate customer requirements for new product applications, including technical, timing, and validation aspects.
- Capture and summarize "Voice of the Customer" feedback.
- Provide engineering customer support for Aptiv's Portfolio Connection Systems, including prints, specifications, validation testing, and samples.
- Support internal quote process and customer reviews, including design reviews, customer tech reviews, and vehicle packaging reviews.
- Provide customer pre-launch/launch support and formal/open issue tracking.
- Support customer and internal change management processes.
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed (less than 10%).
- Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements.
Your Required Background (i.e. Must Haves):
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience of wiring design or manufacturing with automotive connection systems including: housings, terminals and high speed cable assemblies, wiring design or manufacturing
- 3+ years of experience with role involving customer interfacing
- 3+ years of experience within the automotive industry
Your Preferred Background (i.e. Nice to Haves):
- Master's degree in Engineering/Business.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, Skype, Teams, Visio, etc.).
- Results-oriented with a strong execution mindset.
- Resourceful and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong team collaboration ability.
