Job Summary:

Collects and defines Business Requirements and Functional/Non-Functional Specifications enabling ACI to deliver competitive payment solutions. Uses a variety of standard and advanced techniques in the elicitation, analysis, documentation, and management of requirements. Inventories requirements in central repository, using key attributes to allow for prioritization and grouping. Expands knowledge of the payments industry, product offerings and applied technology. Ensures quality and timeliness of requirements processes to stay at least one release ahead of the development lifecycle.

The Sr Business Analyst will engage with a team of highly motivated software engineers as well as the solution architect, for the design, development, deployment, and support of state-of-the-art statistical and predictive models to support a variety of business needs. This role will take lead on gathering requirements, investigating data discrepancies, answering business data queries, tying diverse datasets together by alignment back to source systems to ensure end-to-end accuracy and consistency.

The Sr Business Analyst will have a background in the Payments Processing industry. They will have a good understanding of the payment lifecycle, the business domain and relevant metrics (data and what it means) in order to support our business needs. This position requires communication with stakeholders and senior leadership, issue resolution, reporting, analysis and recommendations to forecast and make business decisions.

Candidates must have excellent problem-solving, analysis and organizational skills and be able to demonstrate how they are applied within a global support environment. Excellent communication skills are a must for this position. Technical skills should complement the analyst, problem solving and communication skills to deliver a highly effective individual who can add real value individually and through a team.

Candidates should possess strong Business Analyst skills as well as demonstrating a willingness to learn new technologies and business processes as required.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Responsible to collaborate with business areas and data owners to successfully implement and maintain an enterprise level business analytics and data warehousing solution.
  • Responsible for the development of reporting standards and best practices to ensure data standardization and consistency.
  • Perform data cleansing and data auditing as necessary to ensure data quality.
  • Assist in documenting source to target data mapping, transformations & controls.
  • Maintain & support business glossaries and maintain data definitions.
  • Assist in creating procedures & workflows to support data management & usage both within and outside of the data warehouse.
  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) for the Insight Application and the associated business processes.
  • Analyze business needs by facilitating business & IT discussions and reviewing business requirements. Collaborate with business & technical stakeholders to design & implement metadata usage & reporting solutions.
  • Uses a set of tasks and techniques to work as a liaison among and elicit the needs of stakeholders to define and validate solutions that meet business needs, goals, or objectives.
  • Builds and manages relationships with stakeholders based on an understanding of their influence and needs.
  • Assist on research, development & implementation of special projects, as needed.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate with all levels including Executive Management.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, self-motivation and the capacity to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to listen, analyze, discuss, and promote solutions with stakeholders while responding to their needs.
  • Ability to author documentation, such as requirements, and conduct training development for new process and change rollouts.

Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • Strong quantitative/analytical background, 5+ years of data analysis experience and data tools including Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
  • Practical experience in all aspects of business analysis.
  • Experience creating reports and dashboards
  • Understanding and experience in data warehouse concepts such as dimensional modeling, facts, dimensions and SCD.
  • Experience in data validation / migration / cleansing between source and target applications
  • Proficiency with data modeling, relational databases & writing T-SQL queries would be advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of business intelligence tools
  • Experience with Financial services industry and regulatory requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills are needed to gain cooperation from various stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Demonstrable ability to work on large cross-functional teams.
  • Strong ability to organize, prioritize & dive to details.
