Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Media & Content, Operations & Strategy, and Product to develop KPIs and deliver insights on audience and content trends across all Yahoo verticals.
  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards to measure content trends, betting promo placements, and app notification effectiveness.
  • Be at the edge of the industry when it comes to understanding relevant text, video, and audio content trends.
  • Make data-backed recommendations to improve our products and our content and present them to stakeholders across the company.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and Product Analysts to provide ad hoc analyses to gain insight into user experiences and behavior, and present actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders.


Your Day

 

  • Deliver the insights and reporting to the media & content, operations & strategy and product teams with the insight they need to optimize their business areas.
  • Provide ad hoc analyses to gain insight into user experiences and behavior and present actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Perform deep dive analyses on web/app activity and other Yahoo data to detect opportunities and insights that drive support and learning strategies.
  • Deliver actionable market trends and insights to the organization using third-party data such as Comscore, SimilarWeb and App Annie.
  • Build and effectively communicate data stories to executives and key stakeholders via presentations, written summaries, and data visualizations.
  • Collaborate with Data Science, Product and Media teams to come up with testing opportunities to improve campaign performance and retention/engagement metrics.
  • Collaborate with the Voice of the Consumer team and incorporate their audience insights into your work in order to help better understand the why behind the what in our data.
  • Create dashboards and reports that provide analysis and commentary, explaining product, marketing, and business trends for Executive reporting.
  • Build strong partnerships with media, operations, and product teams and enable them to launch new initiatives for testing/iteration
  • Frame business problems into questions that can be answered through data analysis, and translate business needs into requirements
  • Design and lead time-sensitive strategic research projects involving methodology development, analysis, strategic recommendations and presentation of findings to Senior Management


You Must Have

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree and experience in digital analytics and insights delivery.
  • Strong analytical skills and quantitative mindset with understanding of basic statistics.
  • Proven track record and enthusiasm for complex problem solving and analysis, including working with large data sets and great Excel skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to craft and present data driven analyses and insights to articulate performance and opportunities to key stakeholders.
  • Ability and enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines can sometimes be tight and stakeholder needs immediate.
  • Ability to think customer first and drive positive experiences for the Yahoo audience.
  • Proficiency in digital analytics tools such as Google or Adobe Analytics and visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau.
  • SQL familiarity preferred
  • Significant experience, proficiency in, and passion for mobile and web products.
  • Track record of proactively establishing and following through on commitments.
  • Demonstrated use of analytics, metrics, and benchmarking to drive decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, creative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player in driving growth results combined with a positive attitude and high emotional intelligence.
  • Strong work ethic and strong core values (honesty, integrity, creativity, etc).
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and team-oriented leader.
