Sr Business Intelligence Developer

As a Sr Business Intelligence (BI) Developer, you will work Business Partners, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and other IT teams to ensure a tight fit between Business Intelligence/Analytics environment, business requirements, and the Data Management platforms. You are responsible for combining data from multiple sources into BI-specific data models to create meaningful reports, visualizations, and dashboards. Ultimately, your goal will be able to help your customers discover actionable insights and data-driven decisions. You will also support Data Science efforts including predictive/prescriptive analytics and AI analysis of big data.
Sierra Space-based in Louisville, CO with operations in Madison, WI, Durham, NC, Huntsville, AL, Houston, TX, and Kennedy Space Center, FL-designs and manufactures the Dream Chaser spaceplane and other advanced spacecraft, commercial space destinations, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers, and international organizations. Must-haves:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 10 years of relevant experience Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
• Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
• Deep understanding of Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing concepts Advanced experience with reporting tools (Power BI)
• Solid SQL skills and the ability to write complex, highly-optimized queries

Preferred:

• Significant experience with Business Intelligence tools (one or more of the following: Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, qlikview, TIBCO Spotfire, SAP Business Objects, SAP Crystal Reports)
• Advanced Power BI Skills:o Data Model design: familiarity with OLAP and Tabular model design principleso Languages: Advanced DAX, Power Query (M)o Dashboard development, Workspace management, role-level security control
• Skills in other MS SQL Server technologies - SSIS, SSAS, Stored Procedures
• Knowledge of Python, Scala, PySpark, R or other languages is a plus
• Data profiling skills
• Knowledge of multiple development methodologies, preferably Agile
• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:

• Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps
• Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity
• Rarely lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs.

• Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)
• Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials
• Rarely exposed to loud noises

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
$109,592.82 - $164,389.23
Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
