About the job
The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and managing Linux/Unix systems on cloud instances, as well as ensuring all instances have good monitoring health. The candidate will be responsible for learning the Datadog platform, and how to implement its integrations on different systems as well as provide best practices consulting. We will provide assistance and training on the Datadog platform but the candidate must know their way around deploying Linux systems, and and have solid experience in 1 or more programming/scripting languages.

Responsibilities
- Develop quality configurations in YAML and JSON
- Must have experience in Linux/Unix
- Build cloud and onprem monitoring solutions for Infrastructure, APM, and Logs
- Build grok patterns for custom logs
- Modify code to send traces and subtraces to Datadog
- Analyze and maintain existing software applications
- Writing custom scripts in shell, Python, PowerShell
- Design highly scalable, testable configuration tools
- Work with customers to deploy solutions and guide on best practices in modern infrastructure/application monitoring
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with systems administration in Windows and/or Linux environments
- Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Self-learner and eager to understand new technologies
- Experience with 1 or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Scripting/programming experience in one or more language such as shell, Python, Go, or PowerShell
Nice to haves
- Experience working in a technology consulting role
- Experience in a modern monitoring platform such as Datadog (preferred), Dynatrace, Grafana, ELK, etc
- Experience using common infrastructure configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SSM, etc)
