**FUTURE FINANCE OPPORTUNITY**

About the role:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Cloud FinOps Analyst to support our cloud financial operations initiatives. The Senior Cloud FinOps Analyst will be responsible for optimizing our cloud infrastructure costs, monitoring usage patterns, and implementing strategies to maximize efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cloud technologies, financial analysis, and cost management. As a Senior Cloud FinOps Analyst, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud spending with business objectives and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Budget Planning and Forecasting: Collaborate with IT and finance teams to establish cloud budgets and forecasts. Track actual spending against budgets and provide insights for adjustments as needed.

Cloud Cost Management: Monitor and analyze cloud spending patterns across various platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Identify cost optimization opportunities and implement strategies to reduce unnecessary expenses while maintaining performance and scalability.

Resource Utilization Analysis: Analyze cloud resource utilization and recommend rightsizing or resizing of instances to align with workload requirements and minimize over-provisioning.

Cost Allocation and Showback: Develop methodologies for allocating cloud costs to different departments or projects. Implement showback models to improve cost visibility and accountability.

Automation and Optimization: Implement and/or drive the implementation of automation tools and scripts to manage and optimize cloud resources. Leverage cloud-native services and tools to improve cost efficiency.

Cost Reporting and Visualization: Create and maintain detailed cost reports, dashboards, and visualizations to provide stakeholders with clear insights into cloud spending patterns.

Educational Initiatives: Conduct training and awareness programs for teams to enhance cloud cost consciousness and encourage responsible cloud usage.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT, DevOps, procurement, and finance teams to align cloud spending with business goals and identify opportunities for collaboration and improvement.

Best Practices and Compliance: Stay updated with the latest cloud cost management best practices, industry trends, and compliance requirements. Implement internal controls to ensure data security and compliance.

• Analyzes complex financial data, assess accuracy and makes recommendations to enhance business processes

• Perform analytical work, involving the identification, compilation, and documentation of IT expenditures, for purposes of expense/headcount tracking, project costing and show-back reporting

• Prepare and maintain detailed and comprehensive documentation of processes and procedures to support and drive process improvements

• Lead in the planning and development of the annual IT operating/capital budget and provide business counseling to cost center owners and management

• Research and prepare evaluations on a variety of projects/problems to include but not limited to: financial trends & analysis, operational, capital and cost/benefit analyses

• Able to manage multiple high priority projects and assigned task simultaneously

• Follow and conduct audit processes and review internal controls to ensure financial transactions are accurate, timely and comply with accounting standards, principles and company policy, highlighting issues proactively

• Assist with monthly IT management reporting package

• Maintain superior working knowledge of data and information resources

Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of business processes for supported business groups
• Knowledge of security methodologies, policies, standards and best practices
• Knowledgeable of best practices in information technology governance and regulatory landscape for financial institutions
• Knowledge of GM Financial's core business functions
• Working knowledge of the consumer loan business and all system applications
• Excellent understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Superior working knowledge of ERP systems (eg Oracle), Microsoft Office Suites (eg Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio etc) and exposure to Business Intelligence applications (eg Cognos, SAS)
• Exposure to business practices and concepts, as it relates to IT and the financial industry
• Demonstrates specialized depth and/or breadth of financial analysis and strong working knowledge of related disciplines
• Contributes to the development of new concepts and techniques
• Advanced knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure and operations
• Advanced working knowledge of information systems and operations systems for supported business groups
• Strong people skills including the ability to interact with employees at all levels
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to meet expected delivery dates and the tasks necessary to achieve objectives
• Must be a self-starter and able to manage the investigations function with minimal supervision
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills (developing forecasts & financial reports, decoding macros, pivot tables, charts, financial calculations)
• Advance experience with data visualization concepts and tools

Experience

• Required: Minimum of 4 years of experience in finance, accounting, consulting or public accounting with a solid experience in financial analysis, preferably with experience in cloud optimization or in related roles within a cloud centric environment.
• Required: 3+ years of experience leading/managing projects
• Required: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus.
• Preferred: Experience with cloud cost management tools and services (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Apptio Cloudability).
• In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, along with a solid understanding of cloud pricing models and services.
• Proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with a keen ability to dissect complex technical and financial information.
• Problem-solving orientation with a track record of identifying and implementing cost-saving strategies.
• Familiarity with automation tools, scripting, and cloud-native services for optimization.
• Passion for continuous learning and staying current with industry trends.
