Sr CloudOps Engineer

As a Senior CloudOps Engineer, you'll be on a team of engineers whose mission is to build and improve Tyler's next-generation hosted ERP platform. Are you up to the challenge?

Work with our innovative software solutions that help local government and school districts centralize data and connect their organizations. By working to develop and support our financial management solutions, you can help integrate our solutions with human resources, revenue management, tax billing, and asset management.

Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for mentoring other members of the CloudOps team and providing constant constructive feedback.
• You will be expected to be a thought leader and drive best practices and patterns for all the supported products and teams.
• You will be responsible for performing code reviews and approving pull requests for other members of the CloudOps team as well as members of other product teams.
• Work to plan and build the next generation of Tyler's ERP hosting platform through careful application of IAC, Configuration Management, Event-Driven Infrastructure to deploy secure, repeatable, and resilient infrastructure as demand requires.
• Develop tools to improve our ability to rapidly deploy and effectively monitor services in a large-scale distributed environment.
• Participate in periodic on-call duties.
• Collaboration: Work with your peers within your team and outside your team to help develop these solutions.
• Administer and maintain several Non-Production and Production Kubernetes clusters.
• Perform upgrades and improvements to the Kubernetes clusters.
• Monitor and address issues in the Kubernetes clusters.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cloud-focused experience as a DevOps/CloudOps engineer, software engineer, or similar discipline on AWS
• 5+ years writing enterprise-level documentation and providing guidance to development teams
• 5+ years working with Observability / Monitoring tools
• 3+ years working with Production Kubernetes Clusters
• 3+ years of experience working in a CI/CD environment
• 3+ years scripting experience (BASH, Python).
• 3+ years of experience implementing or maintaining high availability and secure systems
• 3+ years of experience migrating and managing AWS workloads
• 2+ years of Linux system administration experience
• 1+ years of IaC experience preferably Terraform.
• Expertise with AWS base services including EKS,ECS,EC2, VPC, ELB, RDS, Route53, CloudWatch, S3, etc.
• Software development experience in any language.
• Demonstrate an expert level of understanding and experience with at least 1 CI/CD platform(Harness, Jenkins, GitHub/GitHub Actions).
• Demonstrate an expert level of understanding and experience with at least 1 realtime Monitoring system (DataDog, Splunk).
• Understanding of microservice architecture.
• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Must be able to solve complex problems with little guidance.
• Must have a passion for defining best practices and patterns.
• Must be able to learn new technologies and teach others what you have learned.
• Must be able to review others' code and provide constructive feedback.
