Job Description
The Senior Cost Allocation Accountant performs detailed analysis and research focused on the allocation of expenses to key legal entities and CREF share classes based on business focused drivers. A premium is placed on the ability to efficiently and effectively analyze data and present the results in a concise manner to management. The Senior Cost Allocation Accountant is actively involved with project management activities and works closely with other areas including CREF Liaisons, Business Unit Finance, Fund Administration, and the Product Group.Β
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Extract and analyze historical cost allocation detail using Hyperion Essbase.
Perform legal entity cost analysis and review through the use of Excel.

Review intercompany agreements and summarize key allocation focused information for management consideration.Β
Create cost allocation presentations for management analysis purposes.
Draft cost allocation memos summarizing key concepts and decisions, and prepare related supporting documentation.
Perform ad hoc cost allocation research as requested by management.
Coordinate project completion tasks and timeline.
Collaborate with other project team members including CREF Liaisons, Fund Administration, Business Unit Finance, and the Product Group.
Supports junior cost accounting staff in the development of their professional skills.

Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of cost allocation accounting experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of cost allocation accounting experience
- University degree in Accounting.
- Proficiency in Hyperion Essbase.
- Strong proficiency in Excel.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, have a positive work ethic, and be comfortable working in a fast paced, demanding environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proven ability to work as an effective team player, and ability to collaborate across functions and businesses.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- A sense of urgency, results orientated and thoughtful execution skills.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed analysis on existing CREF share classes and the creation of the R4 share class.
- Create detailed spreadsheets and models in Excel to analyze cost allocation information.
- Write cost allocation standard operating procedures and other policy documents.
- Manage project details and report progress to senior management.
- Enhance the efficiency of analysis files through automation and other tools.
- Preparation of supporting cost allocation documentation.
- Assist with preparation of internal and external audit requests.
Potential Salary: $97,000.00 USD
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.Β In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).Β
