Sr CV Engineer

We are looking for a Sr CV Engineer to join the Computer Vision / AI team and build the core technology behind the TerraClear rock mapping and autonomous rock picking solutions. Your success will allow the company to ship transformational solutions that free farmers from the worst jobs on the farm. 

In this role, you will:

• Own the image acquisition stack: camera selection, calibration, image/video acquisition, pre-processing, quality control, etc.
• Run experiments guiding the decisions in the image acquisition stack and document their results.
• Work closely with AI and robotics engineers.
• Maintain the code base and assure its readability.
• Implement proof of concept solutions and test them “in field”.
• Assist in translating proof of concept code into production-quality code.

The minimal requirements:

• PhD in science (e.g. Physics or Chemistry)
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in CV (listed above)
• Deep understanding of optics, perspective geometry, camera calibration, stereo geometry
• Expert understanding of how cameras work: e.g. exposure, ISO noise, shutters
• Expert python and C++ coding skills
• Proficiency with OpenCV (both python and C++)
• Technical leadership skills

Desired skills:

• Experience with automated exposure/gain control
• Experience with optical flow, keypoints estimation and matching, template matching/tracking, stereo depth estimation
• Understanding of video compression (codecs)
• Experience with stereo depth estimation, visual odometry, SLAM, structure-from-motion
