Sr Data Analyst

The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for the utilization of comprehensive data tools to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets in support of any customer in all vertical lines of Thomson Reuter's business in North America. This position requires a well-developed understanding of the dynamics of fraud, waste, and abuse in Government Programs and will be responsible for routine and ad hoc projects relating to data investigation, follow-up on analysis results, and presenting findings in a clear and concise presentation format.

The Senior Data Analyst must effectively communicate with appropriate outside authorities and client staff via phone, email, and video conferencing, while maintaining a strong focus on customer service. The role will also provide subject matter expertise in the area of data analysis to support fraud investigations, in addition to assisting in the development and enhancement of Thomson Reuter's analytics and suite of products. Must be motivated and possess a strong work ethic. Work is varied, and is organizationally and relationally complex, and requires a high degree of discretion and independent judgment.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Sr Data Analyst, you will work on/be responsible for some of the following:

• Using SQL for in-depth data analysis and reporting including complex algorithms, stored procedures and database structures
• SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) report writing
• Review and analyze data (protected and sensitive) involving Government Programs such as Medicaid, Unemployment, SNAP, TANF, WIC, and Tax and Revenue
• Mine and aggregate data to identify trends/opportunities for enhancements or additions to the Thomson Reuter suite of tools
• Perform quality validation analysis on multiple data sets
• Utilize various analyst tools to gather, analyze and interpret data from various sources
• Present findings in a clear and concise presentation format including word, excel, power point, etc.
• Effectively communicate with appropriate outside authorities and client staff via phone, email, and video with the ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as strong interpersonal communication
• Manage customer escalations as needed

About You

You're a fit for the role of Sr Data Analyst if your background includes:

• 6+ years of experience in data analysis, applied research, or in the realm of fraud prevention, detection, investigation
• Bachelor's Degree in information technology, criminal justice, healthcare, business, government administration, mathematics, statistics, management information services, or closely related field
• Experience working with Medicaid and/or Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, Welfare and Eligibility, or Revenue and Taxation programs OR experience in Fraud/White Collar Crime Investigation OR experience in Criminal Intelligence
• Excellent knowledge of data collection, analysis, statistics and data presentation with experience in data mining techniques and procedures
• Microsoft T-SQL
• SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and/or Tableau or Power BI
• Strong skills in data visualization
• Knowledge of and strong aptitude for analytical thinking and demonstrated data skills
• Experience working with large transactional databases and data warehouses
