We're currently looking for a Data Analytics and AI Principal to join our team at our Nissan Americas HQ in Franklin, TN or Remote.

The Data Office is responsible for leading data initiatives which span across master data, transactional data and 3rd party data sets. The Data Office will provide oversight for data across all functions such as sales, marketing, manufacturing, purchasing, after sales, finance, insurance, connected car, supply chain & logistics, HR, etc. The scope is all of Americas regions - North and South America.

We are looking for a passionate, multi-talented candidates that can both drive thought leadership, guide teams as well as research and develop data products/capabilities for Nissan needs. This role will help us make data science, data management and data governance initiatives an integral part of how Nissan makes and executes data-driven decisions. You are expected to provide technical and/or analytic expertise on major current data & analytic initiatives, develop innovative data-driven solutions to support business outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

• Analyze complex relationships in disparate data sources, identify key prediction problems, devise solutions, and build prototypes

• Provide data science and data engineering support to develop application and frameworks that operate on large datasets

• Line of sight to business objectives - keep business outputs in everything you do

• Assist in building a strong research team and play a role of mentor, provide professional guidance, and become a thought leader.

• Build and maintain Data Science, NLP best-practices and methodologies to bring our team to be first-on-class NLP team

• A variety of LLM based initiatives, chatbots and dialog modeling

• Develop natural language query facilities to drive intelligent data retrieval and analysis

• Explore text generation approaches for producing reports, summaries, responses.

• Perform exploratory data analysis and statistical modelling with high quality data handling techniques

• Familiarity with emerging LLM products from Open AI, Google and other industry leaders

• Utilize strong technical and computational skills coupled with the ability to code, design, develop, and deploy sophisticated applications using advanced unstructured and semi-structured data analysis techniques

• Develop data-driven solutions to the challenges using appropriate analytics techniques such as EDA, data mining, ML, DL, etc.

• Hands on data extraction, data analysis, data cleaning, preparation, modeling, and evaluation

• Develop data visualizations and dashboards that are not only informative, but guide decisions with predictive features

• Interact with all organizations to understand key business questions and develop end-to-end analytic project plans

• Apply deep critical and analytical thinking to identify non-obvious solutions and/or approaches to open business questions

• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

Requirements

• Business minded - focus on generating business value. This is one of the most important requirements for the candidate.

• Ability to works under minimal supervision, using independent judgment

• Experience supporting multiple parts of the data science project lifecycle: business understanding, data discovery/ingestion, feature engineering & EDA, modeling & evaluation, communication of results, implementation.

• Experience in using mathematics, statistics, modeling, analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques

• Proficient in SQL, scripting languages such as Python

• Knowledge of advanced data science techniques, such as machine learning, deep learning, ensemble methods, natural language processing

• Experience working in an agile team

• Familiarity and research interest in bleeding-edge data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data architecture

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills, accountability, and project management skills

• Ability to work under pressure in a demanding, environment with lack of clarity, and to work under tight time constraints and meet deadlines.

• Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Management or Data Science required, Master's Degree Preferred

Key Skills: ML, DL, Data Visualization using Tableau, ELT, NLP, NLQ, Augmented Analytics, Snowflake, AWS etc.
