Job Summary

This position is responsible for serving as a bridge between the development and operations functions; identifying the interdependencies and productivity barriers between these functions as they collaborate for continuous solutions delivery; accelerating development-operations collaboration by developing automation for operations processes; improving developer productivity and delivery speed by enabling them to be more self-sufficient; working collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and operate our systems; helping automate and streamline our operations and processes. Build and maintain tools for deployment and operations, troubleshooting and resolving issues in our development, testing, and production environments.

NOTE: This hybrid role can be located in CHICAGO IL or RICHARDSON TX ~ relocation will not be offered; sponsorship is not available.

Required Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 4 years experience in systems engineering or administration OR 8 years experience in systems engineering or administration.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Experience with developing enterprise CI/CD pipelines for efficient and automated software delivery.
• Experience in continuous integration, test-driven development, and other DevOps disciplines.
• Background in Linux/Unix Administration.
• Experience with automation/configuration management platforms like Ansible.
• Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services.
• Experience with database technologies like SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages like (PHP, Python, Bash and/or PowerShell).
• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate the benefits of automated operations processes to both development and operations teams.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, preferably in a senior or lead role.
• Proven experience with modern SCM and CI/CD tools
• Experience designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure using platforms like AWS, Azure
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker/OpenShift and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Act as change agent to facilitate the adoption of DevOps at all levels by removing impediments.
• Be an advocate for and support full end to end automation of software delivery (CI/CD).
• Coach and mentor junior DevOps Engineers, Software Engineers, etc. on building solutions and smart developer behaviors (CI/CD/DDD/TDD/BDD).
• Emphasize Technology Lifecycle Management.

Base Pay Range$88,700.00 - $160,200.00
