The Senior Director, Head of Risk, will be responsible for helping design and build a risk management program for PayPal's new broker-dealer.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and build a risk management program for PayPal’s new broker-dealer consistent with PayPal’s global risk management and governance framework.
  • Oversee all risk types related to the PayPal’s new broker-dealer business.
  • Provide risk leadership and oversight of the business, creating streamlined interaction with independent risk management and a comprehensive view within PayPal’s new broker-dealer and affiliated PayPal entities.
  • Lead, manage, and supervise a team of risk professionals responsible for the broker-dealer’s risk management
  • Provide in-depth and technical advice to support timely decision-making.
  • Execute board-level, senior management, committee, and business/enterprise function materials, presentations, and reports.
  • Provide a single point of contact to leadership for risk management oversight across all broker-dealer business activities.
  • Identify and escalate risk and control issues with transparency, in a timely manner and in accordance with PayPal policies and procedures.
  • Advise senior business leadership regarding appropriate operations policies and processes leveraging risk appetite, risk management metrics, performance metrics, and emerging trends across the business.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required (advanced degree, such as MBA or JD is preferred) with 15 years or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of broker dealer risk management required, including 10+ years of leadership experience within a broker-dealer compliance function and/or with fintech companies.
  • Significant experience in policy and framework development in a broker-dealer environment.
  • Solid understanding of SEC and FINRA regulation
  • Series 14 or 24, and/or FRM qualification a plus
