Job Description
The Sr Director, Design role is responsible for leading breakthrough creative expression of both TIAA and Nuveen brands across all touch points with a passion for storytelling through design. This leader will report directly to the Head of Creative and be responsible for helping to build a team of designers, who will produce work for both Institutional and Consumer audiences that will be distributed through a range of channels from digital display advertising to brochures and events. This role will also work to develop and execute creative assets alongside external creative agency partners.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Leads team to develop full spectrum of creative that tells the story of the brand in a way that is highly impactful and moves people.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure breakthrough and relevant outcomes
- Works with agency partners as an extension of the creative org to develop and execute content
- Manages design files and assets
- Manage team workload and priorities on a day-to-day basis to ensure all project requests are met and effectively prioritized.
- Ensure the work is consistent with brand standards and visual identity.

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of marketing design experience including building a brand, oversee brand guidelines, standards, or visual identity
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years of marketing design experience including building a brand, oversee brand guidelines, standards, or visual identity
- Previous experience collaborating with key stakeholders and senior leaders on developing breakthrough design that is ownable and differentiated
- Ability to identify talent to build out the organization
- Demonstrated track record of design, with samples
- Exceptional design skills
- Demonstrated understanding of modern, digital campaigns
- Ability to simplify and streamline content
- Experience with content management systems
- Previous experience of leading a team of designers
- High degree of proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat
- UX experience
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to dynamically manage multiple projects at once, including frequent unexpected requests, with efficiency, urgency, and patience

Base Pay Range: $134,700/yr. - $224,500/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
