Working with the VP, Events Marketing and Special Projects, the Senior Events Director helps establish the strategy and development of Hearst corporate events, provides leadership and hands-on execution of the concept, design and production of large-scale events, conferences, receptions, colleague engagement initiatives and special projects, both in-person and virtually.

The Senior Director, Events Marketing is a highly visible role, serving as a consultant and partner to Hearst executives across divisions and businesses on project concept and execution. The role reports to the Vice President, Events Marketing and Special Projects. Ideal candidates will have at least 8 years events experience.
- Creative thinking, excellent judgement, understanding of audience and user experience.
- Manage high profile projects from concept through to delivery.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, ability to flex from partnering with executives on high profile projects to event production details.
- Outstanding collaboration skills, solution-oriented, able to work across multiple functions, businesses, internal and external organizations with confidence and executive presence.
- An understanding of how well-executed events and initiatives support business imperatives and the ability to manage shifting priorities.
- Attention to detail and deadlines. Set standards for quality and creativity, ensuring consistency.
- Comfort in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Highly organized, with grace under pressure and a mindset geared to professionalism and creative solutions.
- Computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Suite and various virtual event platforms.
- Manage event budgets, optimizing both internal and external resources to create efficiencies and support goals.
- Develop, build and act as a liaison for Hearst relationships with philanthropic organizations, event venues, vendors, public relations and marketing firms, and more.
Supervisory (Management) Responsibility
- Management responsibility for contracted external suppliers and vendors.

In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York City. The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York City, is $140,000-$165,000. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York City. If this role is open to candidates outside of New York City, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate's starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
