Sr Director - Global Marketing

The Sr Director - Global Marketing has primary responsibility for planning and executing the direct marketing strategy for the global domain business. This role leads the assessment and recommendation of direct marketing investments and is responsible for the optimization of initiatives to drive demand and preference for Verisign’s domain business and related products and services. This position leads a globally distributed team and partners closely with other marketing and cross functional leaders to plan and execute marketing strategies and programs across all regions. The Sr Director Global marketing will drive the development of integrated marketing campaigns and assets with channel partners and direct to the end customer (primarily B2B2C).

Key Responsibilities:

• Leads a dynamic, globally distributed team. Understands marketing trends, media insights and competitive activity across regions and leverages this information to build effective marketing plans.  Manages a team that continues to innovate, inspire and drive value in Verisign products and services.
• Partners with account management team and other marketing leaders to develop and execute strategy and plans that align with regional and corporate sales goals and targets. Plans and recommends direct marketing portfolio investments strategy across brands and regions. Oversees regional marketing activities that drive new and core market opportunities. 
• Develops campaign strategy and is responsible for creative direction, execution and optimization of direct marketing activities. Manages a global marketing framework while allowing for relevant localizations across target markets. Collaborates with product and content teams to determine messaging and content. Measures campaign and program success while building operational excellence.
• Oversees centralized management of regional agencies and contracts. Develops consistent expectations across all agencies. Collaborates with legal to enable efficient contracting and compliance with terms.
• Identifies how to evolve both internal and external brand story telling elements that resonate with end-users and help build brand advocacy and the brand over time. Drives thought leadership in line with a global product positioning strategy.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years’ marketing experience, ideally leading global marketing teams.  Must have a global mindset and a strong focus on digital marketing, media, messaging and branding.  Knowledge of small business segment is a plus.
• 4+ years’ experience leading a global team and managing multiple agencies and budgets in the US and globally.
• Thought leader with experience developing global go-to-market strategies and plans as well as new product launches.
• Results oriented and strong analytical skills.  Must understand data and market insights to inform recommendations and decisions.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills and ability to work cross functionally.  Must be able to build relationships at all levels of the organization and foster open communication across diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Excels at earning trust and is adaptable and flexible to navigate dynamic business processes. 
• 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in marketing, or equivalent work experience; MBA preferred

This position is based in our Reston, VA office and offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule.

The pay range is $194,200- $262,800. 

The anticipated base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
