Department Overview:

The newly formed Global Services team is comprised of Product Readiness, GCS Education Services, and the Dispensing Upgrade teams. The intent of this department is to create a horizontal, consistent, and coordinated approach to organizational readiness across all of MMS to ensure that the GCS teams can deliver a seamless customer experience. This is a critical enabling function for the regions to be able to deliver on revenue commitments and to continue driving Gross Profit improvement.

Job Description

Purpose:

The Leader of the function is a senior management position responsible for partnering with VP of Global Services Platform as well as key cross functional business leaders to define and execute the overall strategy centered around ensuring efficient, quality, profitable release of all MMS software and solutions. This strategy will ensure high quality releases, associate readiness and preparedness and consistent quality implementation, upgrade and support experience for our customers. This resource will need to bring together multiple teams to create a new cohesive model to drive organizational readiness and will partner closely with VP of Global Services Platform to define and execute a cohesive strategy that will improve the profitability of the MMS business.

Overall responsibilities:

  • Create a cohesive and differentiated approach to organizational readiness and a team culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
  • Provide central point of leadership, decision making, strategy creation, and engagement with all MMS Platforms and R&D teams to represent the needs and requirements of the GCS organization in all product development leadership and decision-making forums.
  • Set direction and lead cross-functional teams responsible for instructional design, education, upgrades, project management and execution of GCS Organizational Readiness activities.
  • Responsible to drive the Readiness team to collaborate with all GCS teams and MMS business partners to ensure successful product introduction, customer and internal education, organizational and implementation readiness.
  • Work collaboratively across organizations to drive quality, successful and efficient product upgrades for BD customers.
  • Collaborate with platform teams to understand product demand in support of MMS growth strategies and ensure upgrade team's ability to meet this demand.
  • Ensure GCS readiness and preparedness for all new hires, new product releases, and innovation.
  • Enable the Readiness organization to work across all lines of business to drive Education Services portfolio of solutions that enable highly effective knowledge transfer and learning for our customers, partners, and internal associates in the most effective and efficient way.
  • Drive increased quality rigor across MMS business, representing GCS needs and requirements and ensuring GCS is compliant with regulatory guidance.
  • Represent and own all key requirements or "ilities" of GCS implementation, upgrades, and support functions for all new solutions and product version releases.
  • Represent, own and ensure GCS requirements are identified, communicated, and understood in development, partnership, and M&A activities.
  • Drive a talent acquisition and retention strategy to develop a high performing team.
  • Create, monitor, and report on KPIs to executive staff to show impact of strategy on organizationally profitability, customer and associate experience.
  • Establish effective practices, tools and standards for communicating information to executive team regarding implementation readiness and upgrade activities.
  • Maintain strong industry, education, and product knowledge.
  • Manage time and resources effectively to meet company objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred
  • 15+ years of relative experience
  • Leadership or project management experience required
  • Prefer experience leading teams with experience implementing and supporting healthcare IT software solutions, experience with capital equipment model is a plus
  • Experience with managing virtual teams and demonstrated ability to lead in a matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated track record of supporting new software and innovation in a customer environment
  • Specific knowledge of BD Medical Systems/MMS business or products highly desired
  • Prefer knowledge of hospital systems and procedures that integrate with BD products
