Job Description

The Sr. Director National Large Group & Public (NLGP) Market Segments is a critical leadership role serving as the primary lead for all of the GuideWell Commercial Market NLGP Market Segments (Fully Insured and ASO). This role is responsible for defining the key market requirements to achieve various NLGP Segment market objectives while driving P&L of the NLGP market segments.

Success in this role is driven through deep engagement and collaboration with internal and external sales partners, alignment with local markets and enterprise teams, and effective go-to-market planning and delivery. This role is also critical in driving the achievement of membership targets through effective market performance management while driving critical focus on the new sales and retention targets required to win in the market, on an ongoing basis.

This leader will be comfortable representing the NLGP markets across the enterprise and will be focused on driving the short-term actions to win in the market as well as the long-term strategic vision to ensure market stability, performance, and sustainability. In addition to the Health plan market requirements this leader has accountability for Stop Loss Program ensuring the team manages P&L for the Stop Loss Program, achieves revenue, sales, retention and operating income goals.

Job duties include but are not limited to:
Market Requirements, Strategy & P&L• Drive/support strategic direction for partnerships to ensure case level decisions adhere to established UW guidelines• Drive the articulation and achievement of NLGP market segments requirements at the statewide level while partnering with the Local Operating Model teams to ensure the development of regional and county level requirements to win in the market where appropriate• Leveraging strong enterprise relationships, drive the strategic vision and understanding of the critical needs and drivers of performance within the NLGP market segments across the key enterprise functional teams that drive the costs and performance of the business• Develop a deep understanding of the segment and facilitate the development of strategy required to achieve the Segment Strategic objectives aligned to the company's strategic direction• Lead, coordinate and facilitate segment-specific analysis and forecasting of environmental and competitive trends, increasing customer and market understanding• Maintain solid understanding of industry economics, evolving opportunities, and customer requirements, identifying opportunities to optimize segment performance• Stay immersed in regulatory and political environment that characterize market segment. Planning & Performance Management• Lead, coordinate, and facilitate the development of cross functional business plans to execute segment strategy• Integrate and coordinate plans and activities across multiple functions to achieve alignment and accelerate execution• Develop appropriate controls to monitor strategy execution• Identify and facilitate conflict resolution impacting execution• Provide segment-specific knowledge to functional areas involved in the creation of customer value, building alignment with marketing strategies and customer requirements• Facilitate the development of market segment-specific strategy and plans that optimize segment performance. Design controls and provide ongoing performance monitoring and reporting• Define, execute and monitor market and segment-specific metrics across key business processes and constituents (internal and external)• Identify issues impacting strategy execution and lead problem resolution• Lead or guide the development and execution of segment growth plans for specific geographies• Coordinate activities across segments to ensure alignment
Go To Market• Champion and promote the Group (NLGP) Go-to-market process and ensure barriers to delivery, alignment, cross-functional support, and execution are removed to ensure success of the process• Drive the continual evolution, optimization, and effectiveness of the Go-to-Market process to ensure effective outcomes are generated for NLGP• Partner with the Dir, Group Go-to-Market to ensure effective delivery of the go-to-market plan, inclusive of appropriate funding, strategy build, and continual modifications to support the evolving needs of these group segments
Stop Loss• Overall accountability for Stop Loss Program ensuring team manages P&L for the Stop Loss Program, achieves revenue, sales, retention, and operating income goals for the book of business• Management and oversight for development, design, implementation, and operations of the BCBSFL stop loss and reinsurance program and the stop loss component of the Level Funded products, including strategy and execution• Participate in Steering Committee meetings with Executives from BCBSFL, ISU and HMIG• Drive/support strategic direction for partnerships to ensure case level decisions adhere to established UW guidelines

Job Requirements:• 7+ years' related work experience. Experience Details: Demonstrated marketing or business strategy experience.• 5+ years' direct supervisory/management experience• Related Bachelor's degree or additional related equivalent work experience• Thorough knowledge of the health care industry with emphasis on: a) Management and broad business experience across function areas b) Applying job knowledge to identify opportunities and solve business problems b) Strategic direction setting• Must have strong leadership, management, coordination, communication and teaming skills• Must be capable of managing relationships across the organization (and externally) in order to properly integrate segment-specific processes and geographic plans• Must be an "outside-in" thinker with the ability to relate customer understanding and business trends to company strategies and opportunities• Ability to act in a strong consultative role with business leaders • Experience working within a matrix or virtual organization

General Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
