Job Description
The purpose of this role is to lead the independent second line quantitative credit risk management to support loss forecasting, CECL, risk appetite framework, concentration limits setting, credit risk reporting and model risk management(MRM) practice. This position plays a critical role in maturing Avant's capabilities to quantify and manage risks effectively.

This position may require you to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. What you will do at Avant:
- Develop quarterly credit loss forecasts as well as monthly loss forecast outlooks and on-going interactions with various internal/ external constituents.
- Run Credit Risk Governance Program. Provide oversight, review and approve all relevant Policies for Credit Underwriting, Verifications, Collections and Fraud.
- Define enterprise credit risk appetite for Avant's products with appropriate KRIs.
- Closely monitor key credit trends & track outcomes of strategic changes. Assist in the development of credit strategies, by understanding the impact of any change on profitability through advanced credit analytics.
- Responsible for design, implementation and maintenance of intuitive dashboards/ reports that deliver valuable insights for enabling data-driven decision making
- Partner with key stakeholders to identify areas of opportunity to enable profitable growth while staying within credit risk appetite and adapting to a changing economic environment.
- Conduct quantitative modeling on portfolio credit risk to inform stress testing, capital adequacy, and concentration risk limits.
- Collaborate with the enterprise Analytics team to mature Avant's MRM program.
- Refine requirements for new models, further enhance the soundness of models in use, and model risk rating framework.
Why you are a Fit for Avant:
- Bachelors in Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, and related disciplines. MS or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a credit risk management or product management role in consumer lending
- Minimum five (5) years of direct employee management experience.
- Strong business acumen and extensive knowledge about credit risk management
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to explain complex topics simply to a wide variety of audiences and summarize key messages for senior leadership.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment with competing priorities
- Understand concepts of data lineage and data stewardship in order to develop effective data analytics that provide insights.
