ID.me simplifies how people securely prove and share their identity online. The company empowers people to control their data through a portable and trusted login, which means they don’t need to create a new password when visiting sites that have the ID.me button.

The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated digital migration for many critical services. Those services require a trusted identity to safeguard against fraud and help ensure people are who they claim to be. With ID.me, login and identity credentials move with people, which can reduce the time and frustration of having to verify at multiple sites and set up multiple passwords.

ID.me is a credential service provider compliant with federal standards for digital identity verification. 

In addition to helping people control their credentials and data, the company’s “No Identity Left Behind” initiative strives to expand access and inclusion for all people. The company offers multiple pathways to verification – online self-serve, live video chat agents, and in person. ID.me is passionate about building a robust identity network that does not compromise access for traditionally underserved groups.

Overview

The Sr Director of Digital Marketing will play a key role in defining the go-to-market strategy, messaging, and positioning for one of ID.me’s largest and fastest growing verticals. The role will work closely with our sales and customer success team to promote ID.me’s solutions to both industry leaders and challenger brands.ID.me has exceptional product market fit.

We have a large (and growing) footprint in the Public Sector with integrations at over 50 Federal and State agencies. We are looking for someone to build on the company’s work to date and lead the next horizon of Product marketing for ID.me: “tell our story” through compelling content about our value proposition, help inform product roadmap via customer needs, and scale a data-driven Product Marketing function as ID.me grows. We are also looking for someone to drive development of our “Government Hub.”

Responsibilities
  • Drive alignment across product, engineering, and sales such that product roadmap delivery and sales commitments are synced (and communicated via clear plans, timelines, and goals) 
  • Create and maintain a framework for new product launches targeting our go to market strategies. (Direct/Partner/Consumer Models) 
  • Understand market changes and advancements to liaise with product and advocate for strategic initiatives on the product roadmap to ensure ID.me’s product capabilities remain cutting-edge
  • Partner with Business Development team to identify new prospect verticals and influence decisions of future investment of sales resources (e.g. which verticals to pursue and how to win)
  • Apply “design thinking” principles to our shape product marketing approach (e.g. reinforce existing buyer / influencer personas Identify all recurring stakeholders in Public Sector sales process across Federal and State agencies and create compelling content for each one (e.g. Federal CISO vs State PM)
  • Prepare and deliver product marketing assets that support the sales and customer success teams and enable them to succeed (e.g. product release notes, updated FAQs, technical one-pagers on new product capabilities)
  • Use competitive intelligence to inform/influence product marketing decisions and increase effectiveness of the Sales team at demonstrating how ID.me is a game changing technology solution. 
  • Optimize content distribution of marketing intelligence campaigns and measure efficiency to ensure resources are used effectively
  • Partner with Chief Customer Officer to draft and publish Case Studies and other customer testimonials to show value impact of ID.me solution
  • Partner with Product and UX to maintain a perspective on Personas for our buyers and influencers as a way to inform campaigns, content, and channels 
  • Partner with Product, Vendor Management, and Sales teams to maintain current  competitive insights and analysis 
  • Track developing competitor technical capabilities and advantages to ensure ID.me maintains a strategic product plan (e.g. mDL) 
  • Manage Government Services Hub to enable repeat use of ID.me login
  • A few times a year (once ready), evangelize for ID.me products and technical differentiators at conferences as a speaker or panelist
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience working in Product Marketing or adjacent functions, including leadership roles
  • Experience working with graphic designers and Content Managers to develop high quality marketing materials
  • Experience designing and delivering marketing, sales, or information campaigns or projects across multiple digital platforms and channels
  • Advanced degree in a technical subject or MBA
  • Strong technical writing skills - you must be able to distill complex technical material into easy to understand prose
  • Structured communicator - you are looking to improve existing process and frameworks to scale content and delivery to multiple audiences
  • Strong collaborator - success depends on your ability to work across multiple teams and disciplines, collecting feedback, measuring outcomes, and adjusting as needed
  • Analytical thinker - data is your friend and an ally in how you approach your craft, including monitoring performance and making adjustments to actions
  • Intellectually curious - we challenge the status quo - you must be able to adapt
  • Commercially-minded - you understand sales cycles, marketing funnels, B2B vs. B2C vs. B2B2C vs. B2G, and the importance of partnerships with external entities to driving revenue (product partners, vendors, advisors, and service providers) 
  • Bias for action - you like to accomplish things and are a self-starter
