Job Description

The Senior Director, Product Management Enablement leads and manages a large Product Management Center of Excellence. In this function, this leader enables product managers and owners as well as the system of delivery to achieve goals in a timely & cost-effective manner through deliberate product planning, increased visibility, and coordinated alignment of investments, epics, features and stories. We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable leader to coach and train our product leaders, product managers, and owners on best practices and strategies. In this role, the enablement leader will be responsible for driving the success of our product management teams by equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in their roles and support our growth and strategies. This leader must build relationships with, influence, and develop a strong understanding of all of Cox Enterprises portfolio's needs and problems. This person will operate as a change agent for continuous improvement and operate with an agile-mindset in a product-centric engagement model.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive product management enablement program, incorporating best practices, techniques, and tools to improve the performance and effectiveness of product leaders, managers and owners.
  • Design, develop, and facilitate training programs for product team members, including onboarding, ongoing training, and professional development.
  • Design, manage, and continually refine effective training and development programs for supporting agile team members that work directly with Product roles.
  • Oversee the creation of engaging and relevant product enablement materials, such as training modules, user guides, knowledge base articles, demo scripts, and best practice guides.
  • Establish and track KPIs to measure the effectiveness of product enablement initiatives, providing regular updates to executives and stakeholders and ensuring the growth and continuous improvement of the product function.
  • Act as the key liaison between product, technology, and other key stakeholders; including the agile transformation office; ensuring clear communication of product information, updates, and strategy throughout the organization.
  • Keep track of industry trends and competitive landscape, incorporating relevant insights into product enablement plans and initiatives.
  • Drive consistent and scalable product messaging and value proposition communication throughout the organization and partner ecosystem.
  • Continuously monitor customer, community of practice, and system of delivery feedback and iterate programs as necessary for success.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align with the over-arching strategy and vision and identify, prioritize and address product gaps or improvements.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to product team members to support their career growth and personal development.
  • Continuously assess and evaluate the effectiveness of our product management enablement program, adjusting strategies and programs as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, actively identifying opportunities to enhance the overall product enablement program.
  • Overall, the Sr. Director of Product Enablement is responsible for ensuring that internal and external stakeholders have the knowledge, resources, and support necessary to utilize and succeed with the organization's products.

Job Qualifications - Experience/Education/Training:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline and 12 years' experience in product management, with a track record of success in coaching and developing high-performing product teams. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 10 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 7 years' experience or 24 years of experience in lieu of a degree. An MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 7 years leadership experience; directly managing and leading employees and complex team efforts
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience facilitating training and coaching sessions.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with various levels of the organization, including executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and executing product training and certification programs.
  • Strong strategic thinking and prioritization capabilities, with the ability to balance multiple competing priorities.
  • Deep knowledge of product management methodologies, including Agile, Lean, and Design Thinking.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and patterns in complex data sets.
  • Passion for continuous learning and improvement, with a desire to stay up to date with emerging trends and best practices in product management.
