Sr Director, Product Management - SynBio

Twist Bioscience is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Director, Product Management to lead the strategic vision and execution of our industry-leading synthetic biology product portfolio. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving innovation, growth, and market leadership for our synthetic biology solutions.

We are seeking a seasoned leader who could act as the general manager of the product portfolio, driving product roadmap, product development, commercialization, pricing and discounting, sales and growth target, analytics, production quality, cost improvement, customer experience, e-commerce, and customer/key account engagement. 

Responsibilities

• Lead the product management team for synthetic biology, including genes, oligo pools, libraries, IgGs, etc. 
• Identifies, analyzes, and articulates market insight, customer needs, buying preferences, and value proposition for target segments that drive successful development and delivery of products and services.
• Lead the development of long-term portfolio planning and product roadmap for the product portfolio
• Leverages Twist scientific product strengths to drive technology investment choices, platform/product development options, and strategic pricing for category success.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales to drive product development, launch, and commercialization.
• Be the internal voice for customer centricity, and have customer and commercial needs drive internal decision making and plans. 
• Own the product lifecycle, including go-to-market strategy, pricing, messaging, and product lifecycle management.
• Manage product profitability and develop strategies to maximize revenue and market share.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and advancements in synthetic biology and identify opportunities to leverage them for our product portfolio.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
• Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the product management team.
• Provide thought leadership and strategic direction for the future of synthetic biology products at Twist Bioscience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in product management, within the life sciences or biotechnology industry.
• Proven track record of successfully launching and managing complex products in a competitive market.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in DNA molecular biology-based techniques
• Strong understanding of synthetic biology and its applications across various industries.
• A passion for science and technology, and a strong desire to make a positive impact on the world.
• Proficient in understanding, analyzing and summarizing comprehensive and complex technical, financial, market and research information/data.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in conducting market research and competitor analysis.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
