Sr Director, Technology Asset Servicing - Applications

Northern Trust is looking for a Senior Leader to Drive Asset Servicing Technology Modernization in Chicago, IL.

Responsible to understand our portfolio of applications, user demand for new capabilities and devise a strategy to modernize those capabilities in a modern framework. As a Sr. Director, this individual will collaborate with all levels of architecture and business leadership, define an executable roadmap to modernize critical capabilities, bringing in talent where necessary and managing key vendors to implement it. The person will devise tactics and strategies to bring our current technology partners up to speed with new technologies and work with managers so that new hires and contractors are targeted towards these technologies. Work will focus on cataloguing and prioritizing legacy platforms, working with business and technology leaders to devise a modernization roadmap and then managing the execution of those roadmaps, so relationships and knowledge of Northern Trust teams and platforms is essential as is experience of working with Northern Trust's key vendors to aid in execution.

Experience

• Deep technical skills in contemporary development tools and methods of Asset Servicing Portfolio.
• Experience in leading adoption and deploying contemporary development tools and techniques.
• Experience coaching, mentoring and leading in software and hardware development projects.
• Experience in deploying scalable solutions that exceed functional and non-functional requirements.
• Experience in articulating technology strategy and benefits to a broad range of technology and business constituents.
• Background in the Asset Servicing business and industry trends in technology deployment.
• Experience in the financial principles of technology delivery.
• Client Relationship management - ability to clearly communicate and build strong relationships.
• Experience of vendor management at executive level
• Knowledge of Northern Trust preferred

Required Skills

• 10+ years of Software Development management experience.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, MBA or MS preferred.
• Strong communication skills - up, down and across.
• Delivering results though others.
• Grounded in various software development methodologies necessary for delivery.
• Setting technical direction for the group.
• Experience delivering solutions with a diverse global workforce. fostering an environment that encourages engagement, teamwork, and results
• Passion for growing your skills, tackling interesting work and challenging problems.
• Experience with Agile and Scaled Agile delivery approaches preferred

Preferred/ Recommended Skills:

• Experience in the financial industry is highly desirable
