The Sr.Engineering Program Manager is responsible for developing and leading thestrategy for the Global Engineering Services (GES) team to achieve the assignedcost reduction targets related to product lines tied to the ElectronicSolutions and the Connected Aerospace Gold Business Enterprises (GBEs).
Thisposition requires demonstrated leadership and the potential to interface withfunctional leaders of all levels across Honeywell. These functions include ContractManagement, Engineering, the Integrated Supply Chain, and Customer &Product Support, as well as supporting functions such as Program Planning &Control, export compliance, Quality Assurance, Finance, and Offering Management.This Engineering Program Manager will be expected to manage across a globalenvironment, working with teams from all the supporting aftermarket sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct product line deep dives to identify new cost take out and scrap ideas.
- Work closely with product line leaders, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives
- Develops short, medium- and long-term projects through deep dives and workshops to maintain a portfolio of potential projects to support the annual operating plan (AOP) and the 3 to 5 year strategic action plan (STRAP) planning for GES
- Develops and maintains required reporting templates and tools to support project reviews, Management Operating Reviews and clearinghouses as needed
- Conducting reviews of the assigned portfolio with the needed Leadership monthly
- Identifying Root Cause and Corrective Action for Key Performance Indicators that need to "go green".
- Directly responsible for successful development and implementation all project performance under the assigned GBEs.
- This needs to be in alignment of achieving the AOP goal commitments.
- Establish and maintain appropriate business relationships with assigned GBEs and all supporting functions. Act as main point focal point between GES and the GBEs.
- Establish management operating systems (MOS) to measure comprehensive program performance against GBEs critical to quality (CTQ) and key performance indexes (KPIs).
- Develop and execute detailed action plans and management operating system, including extensive risk/opportunity analysis, with Engineering, ISC, C&PS for achieving revenue and net investment / operating income targets for the product lines, including supporting the management of a living green sheet.
- Travel within US and/ or internationally may be required - 20%
- Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
YOU MUST HAVE
- B.S. in Electrical / Aerospace Engineering preferred, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering discipline
- 10 years of program, product, or engineering management experience.
- 3 years of experience in leadership role leading large/complex organization (>$5M AOP desired).
- Due to ITAR restrictions, must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Project Management Professional certification
- Black Belt Certification
- Ability to understand and establish priorities in a complex and demanding environment
- Work in a matrix environment with a focus on building relationships and driving improvements over multiple locations
- A project manager who is well organized, detail oriented and self-motivated
- Strong presentation and written & verbal communication skills, especially with cross-cultural customer, partners and Senior executives.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated budget and schedule management skills; established operating system for milestones, financial performance, fill rate, program status
- Possess a positive attitude and professional image with impeccable business ethics
- A change agent with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- Technical proficiency in the use of Excel, Access and other Microsoft Office tools
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated analytical capability
- Demonstrated relationship management, motivational, and interpersonal skills including mentoring of Junior Project Managers and/or Project Engineers.
- Proven track record of effective large scale OEM customer management; A record of effective cross-cultural customer management and interface.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and close agreements that meet program, business and strategic objectives.
- Ability to work independently with limited guidance and exercise sound judgment
- Ability to think strategically and solve problems with high bias for action
