In this role, you will be a senior leader that will be responsible for establishing the strategy, organizational structure, budget, and oversight of the monitoring and reporting on corporate risk appetite performance and emerging risks. You will be responsible for working with Executive and Senior leaders across the company to support the ERM Director and Chief Risk Officer in establishing and continually refreshing the corporate risk appetite and overall framework. You will be responsible for assessing and analyzing enterprise key risk indicators associated with the corporate risk appetite and creating and delivering Executive and Board level reporting. You'll direct and oversees team who works with and provides effective challenge over risk domain and line of business subject matter experts to assess the internal and external environment in developing risk positions that inform ERM level reporting. In addition, you will provide support on strategic enterprise-wide initiatives to drive proactive risk identification and mitigation for enterprise level risks. You will work with other Risk Managers and line of business leadership in developing and applying consistent and coordinated risk management frameworks, systems, and methodologies that support management in managing risks within the corporate risk appetite. Furthermore, you will provide input and influences the corporate risk appetite and alignment with the company's strategic goals, and corporate level policies that establish standards and accountabilities for risk management as directed by the Board.

Functions

  • Directly support the establishment and implementation of the company's Risk Appetite, associated enterprise key risk indicators and thresholds.
  • Develop the enterprise level monitoring and reporting for Executive Management and Board on the corporate risk appetite.
  • Direct and oversee risk management consultation to and effective challenge over Risk domain and line of business subject matter experts as part of risk appetite monitoring, breach response, and reporting process.
  • Oversee and manage a coordinated reporting process on Risk Appetite and associated key risk indicator performance
  • Develop and manage internal and external enterprise level risk monitoring process, new initiative risk assessments, and application of the enterprise risk assessment utilizing an integrated risk management system and methodology.
  • Develop processes for working across the enterprise facilitating emerging risk identification, research, assessment, periodic scenario analysis/risk modeling, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Provide risk consultation to senior and executive leadership as part of the risk appetite and strategic objectives development, and application, including strategic change management activities.
  • Supports the implementation and use of integrated risk management system that meets the Bank's risk management goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations that apply to your position and keep up to date on regulation changes.
  • Maintain working knowledge of our policies and procedures regarding the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other regulations that apply to your position
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
  • 1-5 Direct Resources Managed.


Qualifications

  • Experience in developing and managing associated programs and teams focused on enterprise, operations, financial, or compliance risk management activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple work efforts/people, which may involve directing a multitude of business units/key stakeholders.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to present complex information in dynamic written form to different audiences.
  • Knowledge of enterprise, financial, and operational risk management concepts, best practices, and regulatory guidance.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, PowerBI, ACL, or Cognos reporting. Experience with IRM or GRC systems helpful.
  • Proven to ability to problem-solve complex issues and make decisions with limited supervision.
  • CERP, CRCM, FCM, CIA, or CPA, preferred.
  • 4-7 years of experience managing teams and developing risk management programs, required.
  • 7-10 years of banking with direct enterprise, operational, finance, or compliance risk management experience, required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, or other applicable discipline, required.
  • Master's Degree in business administration (MBA), preferred.
