Department Overview
This position exists within the Motorola Solutions' North America Customer Experiences and Events team. The Events team is responsible for planning, developing and implementing internal and external events and customer experiences to support account teams and other internal teams to achieve their strategic goals and sales objectives.Preferred location is Chicago, IL however open to alternative locations for the right candidate.
Job Description
Work with the events and wider marketing teams to develop and deliver events and experiences to support strategic sales objectives and brand presence and exposure across the industries we serve
Responsible for project managing events and programs of all types and varying sizes, including presence at Exhibitions and Trade Shows, Hosted Conferences (e.g. sales events, partner conferences and roadshows), as well as Networking and Hospitality events to support MSI’s goals and objectives
Responsibilities of the Sr Event Planner include but are not limited to:
Develop and oversee event project scope and plans, critical milestones and key success factors
Full accountability of event project management and stakeholder communication, including construction of project budgets, core teams and responsibilities matrix
Travel directly to events, oversee all event operations and logistics, ensure sales and customer/partner satisfactionÂ
Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of specific events and programs, including ROI and report KPIs and performance metrics as required to internal audiences
Capabilities & Attributes:Â
Exceptional communications skills- work, interact and be comfortable presenting to various stakeholder groups and organizational levels
Exceptional time management skills including, the ability to multitask and manage heavy workloads
Strong intrapersonal skills- effectively manage relationships with external groups (e.g. agencies, suppliers) and be a collaborative team player across the business
Enthusiasm- bring ideas, enthusiasm and events industry insights, while always maintaining a level of curiosity and desire to learn about our business
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
3+ years of events management experience, ideally gained in a corporate or B2B industry
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a marketing or business qualification
Intermediate to advanced knowledge in budget management programs (Excel/Google Sheets) as well as Presentation programs (Google Slides/PowerPoint)Â
Proven track record of managing events, either in-house or agency side
Proven track record of agency management
Experience with Live and virtual events
Experience with CVENT (or similar technology) a plus

- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of events management experience
