What we’re looking for:
Cross River’s BSA/AML Compliance team’s role is to ensure that our business is always consistent with current regulations and remains within Cross River’s risk appetite. BSA/AML Banking is a critical component to support CRB’s growth and expansion initiatives and as a part of the BSA/ AML Compliance team, you will play a key role in helping the business grow in a responsible way. The Sr FCC Payments Strategy Analyst will support management of strategic onboarding initiatives in the payments space, including partner engagements and AML program review and guidance.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Fintech banking in early-stage discussions for new payments products and services to assess BSA/AML and OFAC risks and control environment ahead of new product or service launch
- Collaborate with Fintech partners and the business on building AML programs and controls for Payments Partners to ensure their programs align with Cross River’s risk appetite.
- Partner with Fintech banking through customer onboarding, integration and implementation period
- Review and advise on high-risk features within the client structure, including (but not limited to) the client’s proposed flow of funds, expected activity, regulatory structure and licensing requirements and general company background information
- Review complex products and services arranged with clients within the Payments, Merchant Acquiring and/or Fintech spaces
- Oversee Ongoing Monitoring and Oversight over existing relationships
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including Business Development, Relationship Management teams and other areas of the Control framework, including Risk, Compliance, BSA/AML and Operations
- Provide guidance and advice on due diligence requirements from a risk-based approach
Required Skills
- Experience with Payments as a Service clients
- Knowledge of banking and payments products and services, including payments flows, MSB structures, ISOs/PayFacs, NACHA and Card network structures, among others
- Minimum 5 years of experience working within a due diligence or client onboarding framework within a Financial Institution, Payfac, MSB or general Payments industry
- Background knowledge of AML, Compliance and Risk programs
- Strong work-ethic with ability to deliver quickly with minimal manager direction, take ownership and work independently
- Experience of working within a strong regulatory/control environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Willingness to build and shape a program from the ground-up
- Overall positive disposition
- Strong interpersonal relationship and partnership skills
- Thoughtful approach and ability to create and validate new solutions
Preferred Skills
- Experience or familiarity with Fintech or startup culture
- Basic technology knowledge and prior experience working with third party technology providers (i.e., client onboarding/CDD vendors)
