What you will do:

Under the general direction of the Corporate Operations Finance Manager, and close direction of the Corporate Function Business Partner, our Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for accounting and analysis activities for corporate departments. This includes journal entry processing, analysis, reporting, and customer service job duties. Must be able to effectively and professionally work with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. The principal duties of this role will be to support the financial and analytical processes for corporate functions at Johnson Controls.

How you will do it:

  • Assist with the preparation and analysis of the annual operating budgets and capital budgets for corporate functions
  • Prepare monthly financial statements for the areas of responsibility
  • Assist with analysis of monthly financial results to determine trends
  • Assist cost center owners to ensure adherence to plan/forecast
  • Help budget owners understand their results and assist with finance/accounting questions
  • Prepare monthly/recurring journal entries, analysis, and intercompany forms for Corporate
  • Prepare quarterly reporting schedules for Corporate Reporting team
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations
  • Assist in dispute resolution for intercompany charges for corporate functions
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations for management staff
  • Creation of new processes and improvements as required in constantly changing environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What we look for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual, with ability to adapt to changing environment
  • Strong analytical skills and research capabilities
  • Self-driven and organized; able to balance short and long-term deliverables
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting/analysis experience in a large multi-national company
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of intercompany accounting concepts
  • Team player with excellent communication skills required
  • Commitment to excellent customer Service
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word skills required
  • SAP/HFM experience preferred
  • Exhibits professional demeanor and emotional maturity
