About the role

The Sr Financial Analyst - IT Finance is a highly experienced analyst, who is considered a subject matter expert, and will provide financial support to the IT department. This person should be a self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team. This role reports to the AVP IT Finance and will have significant coordination with IT business partners, as well as other business departments in order to provide support.The analyst will be an excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment. This role will also play a key role in the implementation of IT/process projects.

JOB DUTIES

  • Analyzes complex financial data, assess accuracy and makes recommendations to enhance business processes
  • Perform analytical work, involving the identification, compilation, and documentation of IT expenditures, for purposes of expense/headcount tracking, project costing and show-back reporting
  • Prepare and maintain detailed and comprehensive documentation of processes and procedures to support and drive process improvements
  • Lead in the planning and development of the annual IT operating/capital budget and provide business counseling to cost center owners and management
  • Research and prepare evaluations on a variety of projects/problems to include but not limited to: financial trends & analysis, operational, capital and cost/benefit analyses
  • Able to manage multiple high priority projects and assigned task simultaneously
  • Follow and conduct audit processes and review internal controls to ensure financial transactions are accurate, timely and comply with accounting standards, principles and company policy, highlighting issues proactively
  • Assist with monthly IT management reporting package
  • Maintain superior working knowledge of data and information resources

Qualifications

  • You have knowledge of business processes for supported business groups, security methodologies, policies, standards and best practices in information technology governance and regulatory landscape for financial institutions
  • You possess knowledge of the consumer loan business and have an excellent understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • You have superior working knowledge of ERP systems (eg Oracle), Microsoft Office Suites (eg Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio etc) and exposure to Business Intelligence applications (eg Cognos, SAS)
  • You have exposure to business practices and concepts, as it relates to IT and the financial industry and demonstrate specialized depth and/or breadth of financial analysis and strong working knowledge of related disciplines
  • You can contribute to the development of new concepts and techniques and have advanced knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure and operations, as well as information systems and operations systems for supported business groups
  • You possess strong people skills including the ability to interact with employees at all levels coupled with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • You are able to meet expected delivery dates and the tasks necessary to achieve objectives
  • You are a self-starter and are able to manage the investigations function with minimal supervision
  • You have advanced Excel and analytical skills (developing forecasts & financial reports, decoding macros, pivot tables, charts, financial calculations), and advanced experience with data visualization concepts and tools

Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work or military experience required
  • 4+6 years of experience in finance, accounting, consulting, or public accounting with a solid experience in financial analysis, preferably with an IT and Accounting background required
  • 3+ years of experience in leading/managing projects required
