About this role:
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be a business partner in this exciting, world class organization and support Gartner's continued growth and success. This position will perform a key role in providing financial business analysis, decision support and thought leadership. This includes developing financial forecasts and analyses, generating internal management reports, monitoring key performance indicators, and driving the scaling and automation of financial processes. What you’ll do:Â

Utilize an advanced understanding of multiple data structures, sources, and tools to guide business partners in the development of Power BI reports, which may include data visualization, business intelligence, or data collection

Ability to extrapolate linkages between large amounts of financial and operational data, generate insights and distill complex concepts into actionable information

Engage in cross-team collaboration with multiple business units, and with individuals with varying levels of analytical experience within those business units

Collaborate with business users to help develop new reports and predictive modeling while automating and streamlining existing reports

Interview with internal business clients to obtain new analytic requirements and communicate required data model enhancements to IT
-
Ensure proper BI standards, policies and procedures are followed in the design, development, and testing phases
-
Lead and/or support the periodic reporting, forecasting, and budgeting process for short term and long term business planning
-
Ensure timely and accurate analysis of key variances in monthly and quarterly KPIs
-
Assume responsibility for the daily and monthly reporting jobs

Engage in ad-hoc analyses and other special projects to understand business performance
-
Identify ways to streamline internal financial processes and reduce the time burden for internal employees
-
Deliver all assignment work within quality standards and on time, often within tight deadlines
What you’ll need:
-
Bachelor’s degree is required. Major in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Engineering preferred. Masters or advanced degree a plus
-
Industry knowledge of BI landscape and latest emerging tools supporting descriptive to perspective analytics
-
Four years of corporate experience in financial planning and analysis, forecasting, and reporting capacity with at least 2 years of work experience leveraging Power BI
-
Superior financial modeling and data analysis skills using Microsoft. Working knowledge of Hyperion Enterprise/Planning or other OLAP tools is a plus (Oracle/Essbase)

Proficiency with DAX, Power Query(M)

Strong communication skills, effective communication, presentation and influencing skills in a matrixed organization

Ability to extrapolate linkages between large amounts of financial and operational data, generate insights, and distill complex concepts into actionable information

Able to work independently and within a team structure to consistently deliver flawless work solutions within aggressive (and changing) time constraints

Ability to work effectively on multiple projects at the same time

Knowledge of US GAAP is a plus

A professional with at least 2 years of work experience leveraging Power BI and 4+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, forecasting, and reporting capacity

Comfortable speaking in front of groups and leadership

Enthusiastic about automation, learning and sharing new techniques

Self-motivated and able to independently complete assignments with little to no oversight, as well as leverage resources when applicable
