Join us as a Business Line Controller - Systems
Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Business Line Controller to join our Global Controllers team covering our Systems organization. In this role you will develop strong partnerships with the Systems leadership team and provide strategic financial analysis, thought leadership and key decision-making support. You will be a true business partner with strong data, analytical and presentation skills who can support decision making through proactive, thoughtful, predictive, and data driven analyses.
Responsibilities include deep dive financial analysis, investment analysis, budgeting, forecasting, as well as working closely with business partners to review financial results and identify financial implications of investment strategies. You will help deliver on the strategic imperatives of the Systems Line of Business, as well as supporting BLC (Business Line Controller) key deliverables such as committee presentations, offsites, projects, Client / Product Profitability Model (DIER II), etc.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
- Build key relationships within the Systems business line
- Support Systems monthly and annual financial statement closing and reporting process in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices and standards, including expense accruals
- Construct and analyze System's budget, monitor the actual results of operations, research variances or trends
- Prepare monthly financial reports and strategic analyses and present findings and recommendations to senior management
- Assist in the structuring, maintenance and analysis of technology cost data flows including both direct and indirect cost allocations
- Participate in financial planning cycles (monthly forecasts / annual budgeting / strategic planning)
- Provide advice on financial implications of business trends and products
- Process reengineering of internal processes to ensure best practices are being followed and that processes are fully optimized
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree and similar job experience
- 7+ years of relevant work experience
- Thorough knowledge of asset servicing industry
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Advanced Excel required
- Knowledge of Hyperion & Clarity preferred
- Strong presentation and influencing skills
