Job Description
Overview:The Senior Forming Technician plays a key role in the advanced manufacturing of custom signs by expertly setting up, operating, and maintaining forming machines for complex projects. This position requires extensive technical expertise, the ability to troubleshoot machinery, and advanced problem-solving skills. The Senior Forming Technician also mentors junior team members, leads process improvements, and ensures the highest standards of quality and efficiency in the production process.

The pay rate range for this position is $24 to $29 an hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities:
• Set up, operate, and maintain forming machines for complex and custom sign components.
• Measure and cut raw materials with precision using advanced techniques and tools.
• Load materials into forming machines, adjust controls, and monitor operations to achieve high-quality results.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot machinery issues, ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime.
• Analyze machine operations and suggest or implement process improvements for enhanced efficiency.
• Collaborate with production staff and supervisors to address defects, optimize processes, and improve workflows.
• Record and document machine performance, material usage, and troubleshooting activities.
• Train and mentor junior technicians, sharing knowledge and ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Read and interpret advanced blueprints, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of forming machines to achieve peak performance.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety protocols and standards.
Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical certifications in manufacturing or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience operating forming machines or similar equipment, with expertise in custom production.
• Experience in the sign manufacturing industry or a related field is highly preferred.
• Advanced mechanical and carpentry skills, with a focus on precise cutting and shaping of materials.
• Proficiency in interpreting complex blueprints and construction drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for advanced machinery issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for training and teamwork.
• Ability to lead process improvements and implement new production strategies.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality standards.
• Ability to handle large and heavy materials in a heated environment.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
• Ability to lift and/or move 50-80+ lbs, with assistance from lifting equipment as needed.
• Specific vision abilities, including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Proven track record of leading teams or mentoring junior staff.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement practices is a plus.

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
