Time: Monday - Friday

Employment Type: Full-time (Exempt)

Shift: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Pay: Starting at $55,000/year - Depends on Experience

Start Date: ASAP

Job Overview - This position will support the R&D Team by driving innovation, improving on existing products, and collaborating with R&D team members and leadership. This individual will work closely with other departments within the company and external partners to identify new technologies and deliver superior products that delight consumers while meeting safety and regulatory requirements.

• New product development from concept to commercialization for softgels, capsules, and powders.
• Keep up to date on new ingredients and process technologies.
• Evaluate new ingredients and recommend use in various products.
• Collaborate cross functionally with sales and marketing to understand consumer needs; develops formulations and processes to support new product launches, meeting deliverables in a timely manner with excellent results.
• Responsible for the coordination and execution of benchtop, pilot, qualification batches, and manufacturing scale-up. Provides technical and scientific input and support to other technical disciplines.
• Stay up to date on industry trends, identify potential issues, and redirect the team as needed.
• Evaluate data from testing to cross-functional teams; identify and communicate issues/risks from formulation to production.
• Follow through on administrative tasks that support project, departmental, and company objectives.
• Coordinate/communicate with the team to ensure timely and on-budget delivery of projects.
• Works closely with management in setting product direction, establishing priorities, and meeting goals.
• Provide support in production for troubleshooting in validation runs/ production runs
• Provide support in quality for Raw Materials specifications, evaluations, and recommendations for testing.

Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a science-related field (Science, Chemistry, or engineering)
• or a 2-year degree in a science-related field with 2-3 years of product development
• Experience must be in the nutraceutical industry, specifically formulating softgels, 2-piece capsules, and other related formulas.

Required Skills -

• Clear understanding of Dietary supplements formulations
• Have a solid understanding of Word and Excel
• Able to communicate clearly.
• Able to manage time.
• Self-motivated and able to stay on task.
• Flexible, with the ability to meet changing demands and schedules.
• Work under pressure when needed to meet tight deadlines.
• Maintain product development timelines and track current progress.
• Work with sales, customer service, and quality assurance to provide analysis and technical assistance that is requested.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Dependable and reliable
• Experience developing softgel formulas
• Experience developing 2-piece hard shell capsule formulas
• Experience developing flavor systems for powder applications
