ABOUT THE POSITION
Although we're an apparel and footwear focused company, technology is central to everything we do. Columbia Sportswear's Digital Technology (CDT) teams enable an IT infrastructure across four global brands, a global supply chain, and 500+ geographically dispersed stores. These teams support in-store, mobile, and data platforms to enhance customer interface and service in an ever-evolving industry.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- Analyze, design, build and implement service-based solutions using object-oriented frameworks and modern cloud PAAS approaches.
- Utilize, develop and enhance a suite of testing patterns and practices.
- Operate as part of an Agile team executing against a backlog that covers a broad swath of tasks
across many different domains of the enterprise. - Build, test and deliver production-ready services and products (which consume said services).
- Interact with and mentor other members of the team.
- Actively participate in daily standups, backlog refinement, demos, sprint planning and
retrospectives. - Work with team leads, solutions architects and managers to help improve existing "paved road"
patterns and practices. - Proactively ask questions, identify issues, offer alternative approaches and solutions and follow
up to make sure things don't become blockers.
YOU ARE
- Able to learn and adapt quickly to new programming languages, frameworks, cloud technologies and development patterns and practices.
- Good at following instructions and working within a team environment.
- Self-driven and motivated to learn, ask good questions, provide constructive feedback and
achieve milestones, objectives and goals. - A multitasker that can manage multiple responsibilities at once and can quickly shift gears as
priorities change and evolve.
YOU HAVE
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Information Technology Required.
- 5+ years of professional development experience working within enterprise-like environments and on Agile teams.
- Experience building and interacting with RESTful APIs.
- Comfort and familiarity working on and within Agile software development patterns and practices.
- Experience building cloud-based solutions using one or more of the following PAAS: Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, etc.
- An understanding of modern, commonly used Object-Oriented Programming languages (e.g., C#, Node.js, Java, etc.), design patterns and data structures.
- Knowledge and experience with common testing frameworks (e.g., Microsoft Testing, NUnit, JUnit, etc.).
