Sr Grants Program Specialist - Florida

Job Description

The Sr. Grants Program Specialist will lead compliance in Voluntary PreK programs in FL, ensuring all program requirements are met. The Sr. Grants Program Specialist provides expertise on administrative, curriculum, state and local requirements and initiatives, and training specific to state mandates. The Sr. Grants Program Specialist delivers informational updates on state and local initiatives and aligns LCG processes to support rollout and compliance.

Essential Functions:

• Support FL schools with all state requirements for onboarding credentialed and approved VPK teachers and Directors and setting up to Office of Early Learning portal requirements.
• Set up and complete all State Pre-K contracting and Back to School processes.
• Observe classrooms regularly to ensure compliance with state program guidelines and readiness requirements including curriculum implementation, FL standards, assessments, and program rules.
• Design and utilize Classroom Observation forms to support curriculum implementation to LCG requirements and communicate to field management.
• Support field on timelines and implementation of FL Assessment processes to ensure compliance.
• Create and support action plans for non-compliant programs and partner with grant and field teams to execute.
• Train teacher and field teams to ensure compliance in state and local initiatives.
• Develop and support school/state specific plans based on monitoring reports from state or local agency. Partner with grant and field managers for timeline and action items to support compliance success and prevent loss of program.
• Build and maintain partnerships and strong, effective communication processes with field teams; including RM, DMs, and school management to offer appropriate support for grant programs and to ensure high quality programs and compliance.
• Attend state or local meetings, calls, and webinars to stay informed on changes and initiatives that effect state programs and be able to share that information to field and grant teams.
• The Sr. Grants Program Specialist will understand LCG processes including budgetary and financial reports and data.
• Apply an understanding of FL OEL and local ELC initiatives to be able to support rollout in LCG processes.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree preferred; grant management, early childhood, business, management focus preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in early childcare program management/grant implementation or management/accreditation management preferred.

• Able to partner and build relationships with a variety of departments in Support Central, field managers, and local and state agencies.
• Flexible and able to help with daily program and classroom needs.
• Ability to think critically to solve problems and make decisions.
• Able to partner and collaborate with LCG managers/employees and all grantor personnel, with the ability to influence people at all levels.
• Able to mentor/train teachers and ensure program implementation to grantor/LCG requirements.
• Skills in Word, PPT, Excel
• Ability to travel to programs and meetings.
