Job Description

Team: Others

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr Hydraulic Engineer in the United States.

Join a dynamic engineering team focused on advancing innovative fluid-handling technologies through research, design, and product development. In this role, you will lead hydraulic engineering initiatives that influence the performance, efficiency, and reliability of critical products used across a variety of industries. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply advanced simulation and modeling techniques, and contribute to the full product lifecycle—from concept through validation and production support. This opportunity offers a blend of technical leadership, hands-on engineering, and mentorship within a collaborative environment that values innovation, continuous improvement, and professional growth. The position also provides flexibility through a hybrid work arrangement and the chance to contribute to industry-leading engineering solutions.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead hydraulic design, analysis, and development activities for new and existing products, ensuring performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Define functional requirements for hydraulic systems, components, and assemblies while developing innovative solutions to meet product objectives.
  • Conduct applied research, create prototypes and simulation models, analyze testing outcomes, and provide detailed technical recommendations.
  • Utilize advanced engineering tools, including CFD, CAD, and CAE software, to optimize fluid flow, heat transfer, and overall product performance.
  • Support cross-functional product development teams by providing hydraulic expertise throughout design, validation, manufacturing, and service phases.
  • Lead technical design reviews, perform root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions to improve product quality and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, standards, reports, engineering change orders, and regulatory compliance records.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to validate designs and ensure product specifications are achieved.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, simulation methodologies, and industry standards through ongoing research and professional involvement.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers by reviewing work, sharing technical expertise, and helping resolve complex engineering challenges.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
    • Minimum 7 years of experience in fluid dynamics, turbomachinery, hydraulic systems, or related engineering fields.
    • Strong proficiency with CAD, CAE, and CFD tools; experience with SolidWorks, Star CCM+, or PUMPAL is highly desirable.
    • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities with experience troubleshooting complex hydraulic and mechanical systems.
    • Proven ability to conduct engineering research, interpret test data, and translate findings into actionable design improvements.
    • Strong understanding of engineering quality methodologies, including DFMEA, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.
    • Experience collaborating with suppliers, stakeholders, customers, and cross-functional project teams.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, quality, and project deadlines.
    • Demonstrated success working in collaborative engineering environments and mentoring less experienced engineers.
    • Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in a related engineering field and experience with programming languages such as Python or MATLAB.
    • Benefits

      • Competitive compensation package.
      • Hybrid work model with the opportunity to work remotely up to two days per week.
      • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
      • Tuition reimbursement and ongoing career development opportunities.
      • Access to professional training and learning programs.
      • Profit-sharing opportunities.
      • Retirement and financial wellness benefits.
      • Supportive culture focused on employee well-being, innovation, and long-term growth.
      • Inclusive and collaborative work environment that values diversity and continuous learning.
      • Opportunities to engage with industry conferences, technical organizations, and professional development initiatives.
