The Sr Investment Accountant - Reporting provides accounting professional or management support for the general financial accounting activities for the organization in compliance with regulatory policies. This position will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely and reliable financial operations, data and reporting.

What you do

  • Subject matter expert for bonds and equities on investment system (PAM for Investments)
  • Produce cash flows for bond and equity securities
  • Prepare and analyze Schedule D, DA E for bluebook reporting
  • Complete accounting and reporting for charitable foundations and employee benefit trusts
  • Reconciliations between investment system, general ledger, and custodians with resolution of outstanding issues, as needed
  • Calculation and analysis of interest maintenance reserve and asset valuation reserve reports
  • Preparation of investment analysis reporting for net investment income and realized gain/loss
  • Reporting of investment data for risk-based capital
  • Preparation of financial statement footnotes related to bonds and equities
  • Assist with entering trade activity, when necessary, for various asset classes
  • Produce, analyze, and deliver timely and accurate financial and regulatory reporting
  • Suggest, implement, and/or document improvements to existing processes and solutions
  • Prioritize work assignments appropriately to meet deadlines
  • Identify technical and operational issues as it relates to own work area and resolve or escalate as needed
  • Provide support for investment data requests by working directly with the auditors and/or state examiners
  • Back up for security desk and commercial mortgage loan desk
  • Other duties as assigned


What you bring

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 2+ years of accounting related experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with accounting and financial software preferred
  • Demonstrate initiative and a professional self-directed approach to responsibilities
  • Display strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to provide a consistent approach and controls to maintain the financial integrity of the business area
