Twist Bioscience is at an exciting phase of growth in business. In order to support the rapid growth at scale, the technology and engineering division is seeking an experienced, highly motivated program/ Sr project manager to join the IT Infrastructure, Security, and Compliance organization, supporting technical teams across diverse functional areas. 

The ideal candidate will help streamline technical activities to support the prioritization, resource management, and execution of the project to achieve the company’s business objectives. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a proven track record in managing a range of complex, high-impact projects with strong organizational leadership and influencing skills.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Program/ Project Management Responsibilities:
    • Plan, execute, and deliver technology projects on time, within budget, and within scope
    • Manage project resources, including vendors and consultants.
    • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and ensure that they are communicated to all stakeholders.
    • Monitor project progress and ensure that all tasks are completed on schedule.
    • Manage project risks and issues and develop contingency plans as necessary.
    • Ensure that project requirements are clearly defined and documented.
    • Provide regular status reports to stakeholders and project sponsors.
    • Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards and user expectations
    • Manage project scope, including scope changes and change requests.
    • Facilitate project team meetings, including status meetings, issue resolution, and risk mitigation.
  • Other Role Expectations:
    • Experience on IT Infrastructure and User Experience delivery projects that span in the functional areas of Collaboration tools; Audio Video; Network; System/Storage; Cloud; Information Security, DevOps; API/ Integrations etc
    • Experience on Agile and waterfall methodologies. 
    • Lead and facilitate security and infrastructure-related discussions with Finance, Product, Operations, Sales & Marketing, and other business stakeholders.
    • Support the Infrastructure/SW/Applications development processes required to drive the IT implementation of projects.
    • Lead cross functional business and technical meetings and work closely with enterprise customers acting as technology team liaison. 
    • Collaborate with technical leads to develop detailed project plans and ensure proper hand-offs between internal customers and technical teams.
    • Build high morale and team commitment to goals and objectives by creating a compelling sense of common purpose and direction.
    • Supports the process of prioritizing and road mapping critical initiatives, load balancing based on the team’s bandwidth and facilitating trade-off decisions. 

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • BS or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2, Agile)
  • 5+ years of experience leading IT Infrastructure, SOX, ISO 27001 technical implementation projects
  • Experience with project management tools and techniques, including Gantt charts, project dashboards, and risk management frameworks.
  • Champion process improvements for better project execution and deliverability, and enabling strong compliance traceability.
  • Ability to identify, collaborate and resolve business process inefficiencies that directly affect systems operations.
  • Self-motivated, ambitious with long-term career goals and a willingness to grow into new areas.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and proven ability to develop important relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly adept at translating and communicating technical information to Business Stakeholders, and vice versa for communicating business / strategic information to technical teams.
  • Assertiveness to tactfully address concerns or conflicts openly within core and extended teams.
  • Ability to make good business decisions and exercises sound judgment
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty in a constructive manner and generate options for moving forward.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to highlight issues to senior leaders, drive consensus and forge solutions, stay focused and on-point.
  • Strong work ethic, commitment to the highest quality of work.
  • Proficient with various project management tools and applications.
  • Prior experience in a startup and large-scale environments is a plus.

The base cash compensation for this California-based role is below. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location and may vary from the amount listed above. Compensation may be different in other locations.

$120,838—$149,992 USD
